Shelves in food shops in affected countries clearing empty quicklyWhat is reasonable size of the food we should keep at home, just in case something nasty happen?
1, 2 - 3 months supply or more ? What sort of food is worth to stock or can be?

No, it isn't China or Wuhan. This is our Canberra!!!!
Are you ready/prepared to survive armageddon?

Have you got already proper waterproof face mask and gloves for kiting and windsurfing ? Check you local wind shop for the latest edition from big brands.

Have you got enough low % alcoholic disinfectant to survive ?

I wonder. There are probably most people in cities that are not worried about this and carrying on as normal. Yet there are probably country towns in places that are thinking that the end of the world has arrived and have shut their doors.

What was with the picture of the Italian grocery store shelves yesterday. They had supposedly run out, yet there were certain varieties of pasta that were still on the shelf.

What does this tell us? That Italians are very particular about their pasta and won't eat the wrong type even if its the end of the world? Some things are obviously worth dieing for...

Noooo, not everything
Chinese have simply Time machine.
The best in the world Panasonic and LG battery can hold 3500mAh but Chinese do bring those frome twenty second century that do hold 3 x more and cost one third of the price.

According to science Flat Earth claims have more credibility then 12,000 mAh Chinese battery!

Maybe not the best idea to stock those for your light torch to lighten incoming dark ages. Apparently in the tests they show to contain only 1/10 of capacity claimed and doesn't last more then few months of weeks.

I have bought many of these amazing batteries and flash drives over the years.

When I cut them open they are full of sand. Australian seller, Oz stock, blah blah.

All just picture perfect ripoffs.

From the outside there is not one bit of difference, impossible to tell compared to the real ones, they used the exact same energizer labels.

Just like they do with the baby formula. Empty it out and fill it with crap and sell as original.

Weren't cheap either, normal price. Come in sucker.

The thinking man will go out and buy ten cartons of bush chook.

With these a trade for anything will be possible in an apocalypse. If no trade is possible then all good to sit at home on the porch with the shotgun and the front gate locked.

Got 25kg of rice, 20kg flour plus sour dough starter, 20 cans of tomatoes, soup packets, and a couple a hundred kilo of malted grains, that's the pantry.

Thinking of quarantining myself and spending a month kiting

If this virus hits Australia, it will happen in winter. I'm heading back to the farm in May as there is work to be done. It will be interesting to see what happens during this time as we go into winter. Maybe I'll stay there and grow my own food.

Do you need to freeze any of that lot? I thought they were already suitable for long term storage?

Its an interesting question, what would you store for food provisions if you had a long time to wait? If you had no power would it change things?

I wonder what the trade-off is. Do you concentrate on high energy foods that will last a long time and eat them sparingly, or do you stock up on low energy foods but eat more of them?

No they won't. They would have already headed underground 2 months ago and turned off their mobiles in case someone traced them and their supplies. So they won't even know what's happening..

you are right though in that I am sure some of them look forward to a disaster, just to justify it all. "I was right!"

Yep, I figured I missed the boat, so left it. Looking at the AX200 chart for the last week, it just seems to be a forced correction that was overdue and has settled to a sensible value.

No need to buy toilet paper

Just start using your left hand if it comes to it

Or a smooth rock

This is what some cultures do already

How do you dispose used rock then without clogging waste pipes? Build a wall? Throw opponents on the street?

Don't panic!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is only Monday and after 8 days of constant fall , we have to reach that bottom one day or another.

one may say that is your best time for investment opportunity.
You could now buy falling stock cheaply ( in order to loose the rest of your money so somebody could left richer- as usual).

Don't buy toilet paper !!\
Buy farm land instead!!
With US treasury bonds falling below 2% annul interest you and everybody else could buy cheap Australian land.
The land the yield at least 2.5 % long term gain, guarantied as hard as gold and land itself.
I could foresee that financial world will soon awake to risk involved in investment into fiat money and worthless bonds.
A hectare of good lands remain a hectare after any disaster. Run on the land will start very soon!
Don't panic, buy now !

Prices for meat are getting a bit crazy, for it could be our best time to switch to nuts and vegetables !

Beside obesity is the biggest killer of all, so corona is making as a favour, to allow to eat less !
