at least now we know channel 10 didn't conspire to get us all...

they made surfing look a lot more dangerous than kiting with all those spine injuries

Dear Grant,

Thankyou so much for your contribution to our sport and its image. What sport are you going to try and have banned next ? Please stop kiting for your own and all of our sakes.

Glad you weren't hurt.... shame the same can't be said for kitesurfing.

i think this is a very poor advertisment for us guys who make our living out of land jumping, the narrators statement bout him being an "experienced" kiter of any description seems to be way off the mark.
any land jumper will tell you that the way to approach a slider is front on not backwards and i suggest that until you have that down i wouldn't worry about trying to tweek it with a kiteloop, just my 2 cents anyway.

Replaced the chicken loop becouse you don't unhook and the shackle moved things closer right. really think out the release if your gonna shackle it. you can get a mini loop as an accessory I think they have 5 different sizes range from 21 cm through to 30 cm all with swivel . moving past the shackle issue.

The bar looked to close when fully released. Has the stopper been adjusted closer. I'm not talking the push through. I've seen a few guys do that to make it easy to reach. BUT it leaves the kite still powered, not very much but just enough for it to do those spirals.
can't stress enough leave it leave it leave it as is

I still would like to see triple release safety on these kites
1. quick release the chicken loop your unhooked.
2. quick release again your realesed from the two back lines.
3. quick release again your released from the single line to the kite.
It's all gone.

mate I'm so happy your ok. nothing to worry about, and hope you kiting is as much fun as ever. Dont worry about the sledging.
I hear a few glasses houses smashing to the ground as we speak.

He sat there, on the beach, after the first seventeen kiteloops of death, grinning like an moron and WAITING. Not, frantically trying to disconnect himself from his rig, but waiting. And looking around for the cameras. And waving at the tourists. Looked to me like he was waiting for the hell power drag.

There's a word for staged Hollywoods that result in potential injury - but at least AFL players are smart enough to do it to the other guy. I can't believe anyone would do this on purpose, but it really looks like that to me.

There's a strong possibility that a king-hit with the concrete wall might have improved him.

It's harsh, but it's **** like this that gets everyone banned, and that's something I care rather a lot about.

The manner in which Channel 10 handled the incident was very acceptable, they didnt start slagging off kitesurfing, or start calling him a ****er. They even explained that his quick release was jammed.

Ok ok, I hear and appreciate the argument regarding the ban at bondi, but when the lifeguard asked him to stop, did you hear any arguing, I for one certainly didnt. Also, i have no real solid evidence I must admit, but apparently *puts on flame suit* you are able to kite after the flags are down.

I dont know this bloke at all, but I am willing to stand up for him in some instances. Comments like 'please give up kitesurfing' are I think a little harsh considering the circumstances.

If he had kited through 80 kids to get to the beach, and then got body dragged over tourists and sunbakers, then my opinion would certainly be different.

Im not saying what this bloke did was correct, but for god sake, it wasnt nearly as bad as what it could have been.

Give the bloke a chance. Seriously for all the hype, 9 pages before the 36 secs even aired, that segment has NOWHERE near come close to living up to it.

What does everyone else think??? Over-hype for tv ratings??? And at the end of the day, Channel 10 got exactly what it was after, people to watch!!!

If the kite had been a C kite it wouldn't of relaunched afer it crashed but because of how easy the switchblade 3 is to relaunch it took off again.

What an anti climax.
I have had sex longer than that.
I feel let down and abused. I endured an hour of fat people for that.

We did get out of that pretty good though.
