Has anyone actually ridden the new C4, 5 pages of bloody dribble. Can someone please get on this farqen kite for gods sake and do a review.
its awesome. comes with a free board leash and helmet. they might even chuck in a free pair of gloves so u don't hurt your hands on the bar ends...
New c4 finally dropped. Interesting to see that they are pairing a 45cm bar with ALL sizes. They really must have tweaked all sizes independently to accommodate the smallest bar. Thoughts?
Happy to see that they are offering a large chicken loop as standard as well. Can't wait for my 9 & 12!
anyone actualy ridden one yet?
due to an unfortunate launch stuff up today i pretty much killed my beloved 2011 10m c4.
some i'm thinking about the 2013 instantly.
Some crew have ridden and commented on the other forum. I know Jason from west oz received a batch yesterday hit him up for a demo.
Got my C4's, waiting for a gashed foot to heal to ride them.
The bridle on the 8m looks shorter than in previous years - it starts from about where the 2nd strut out from the middle strut would start, instead of from the middle strut.
Haven't unfolded the rest yet to have a look.
Rode my new 12m 2013 C4 in 10-15 knots of breeze, all I can say is wicked!!!! I came from the 2011 C4, am an intermediate rider (Just starting to unhook) and the difference is huge (Even to me...). Main difference I found was power through the turn, a slightly lighter bar feel and more predictable flight path.
It would be really nice for someone to provide a comparative review of the 2013 C4 to the 2012 C4 kites. I'm looking to buy a set of these kites, but want to hear quantitative differences... details please.
Only used the kite in marginal winds so can not offer much more of an opinion on flying characteristics compared to 2011 C4 other than bar feel was lighter, better pop, more power through transitions.
Visually....
Shorter bar which did not seem to hinder performance
Very short throw
No change to safety system on the bar
Bigger chicken loop
Very stiff fine lines, I landed the kite in the water thought the lines might cut my fingers when retrieving to pack up (Perhaps should wear gloves as per previous posts re: safety gear requirements...)
I think the bridles may be shorter
They are in Sydney! KP have stock but they are flying out the door! We are looking at having a Ozone Demo day not this weekend but the following! so keep an eye out on our Facebook page!
Picked up a 10 and 12m from surf fx on the Goldie yesterday just in time for some crap wind this weekend
Yep got my 9 and 12. Looks like improvements to the leash, bar and kite in comparison to the 2011. Review to come
try JASON at WESTOZKITE w.a i just received my 2013 ozone C4 is a awsome looking kite cant wait to fly it, and the great price
I agree that the main disappointment that really needs updating on the bar is the line swivel. I to do lots of loops and spins and it is a pain in the backside having to do loads of loops on my weak side just to sort them out. Because the lines don't untwist on there own despite the lines being good quality they do wear rapidly when the kite is looped lots without a decent swivel. That's fact
I love the ozone bar apart from that. I left ozone and now fly bandits as the bandit 5 onwards are equal in nearly every aspect flying wise to the 2011 c4's but have a a lot more hangtime mixed in which increases fun even more. (Not flown 2012 or 2013 c4)
Does the new 2013 model have better hangtime?
The bandit 6 is pretty awesome. The Fone bar
Is more out of date than the ozone hence using ozone bars still. The megaton isn't really an issue.
Give us a line swivel ozone!
Yeah give us a crap line swivel to get clogged with sand and rust like the bandit ones
try not doing a heap of loops spins before you decide to untwist them, you can untwist them by hand if your not on the safety. works fine for me.
2012 C4 boosts and hangtime better than the 2011 i noticed an improvement :)
Yep, a swivel is just more weight, more to get clogged and otherwise stuffed and something else for lines to tangle on. Give me simplicity over contraptions any day.
Manual unswivel is very easy, but for anyone other than a beginner surely it's a matter of pride to be able to do rotations of self and kite in both directions on both tacks !
