As I don't have a lot of extra room on board . Ive fitted these to every battery gives me a percentage via the leds.
I can quickly plug in a smart charger either from the marina or a small Honda gen set.

I knew it some drama! It's not showing no where near my fridge discharge and no where near my solar charge.....must be a negitive bypassing the buzz bar somewhere! Hmmmmmm scratch head have a beer!

Still scratching my head? Is it possible my fridge and solar are going through a separate buzz bar to the old analog dials as I can see a draw and charge on them but not on the new NASA monitor?

How many wires have you used to connect the battery monitor and where have you wired the shunt?
The shunt should go straight off the battery before it goes to the bus bar and be capable of handling all current from total system including winches and engine start if these are wired off the battery bank being monitored.

I have 2 separate house battery banks 200amp and a 600amp in the bow....both negatives are going through the buzz bar. It's just my fridge and solar that's not reading correctly on the new digital meter. I have a sneaky suspicion the fridge is going through the old analog meter as I can see that hitting 5 amps when the fridge is running ....strange thing is that it's showing about 2.5 amps discharge on the digital when the fridge is running! Scratch my head again.

Fitted some new engine mounts and the bellows of the PSS shaft seal.

Looking at the photo below the oil line running from the block to the head is to close for my liking to the front engine mount so Ill do a slight modification tomorrow . Also the oil pressure switch run to close to the frame the engine sits on so Ill have to sort that out . It has clearance now but as the engine mount get older it may start rubbing on the frame . I may add a right angle fitting to give it some clearance

Waiting on the prop shaft and once I have that I can align the engine gear box to the prop shaft adding shims on top of the engine mounts

I bought one exit Ronstan exit plate( RF6031) see how it will fit up on the mast tonight I need four but want to make sure it will work OK
Happy so far
The coupling is the same on both DV 20's and DV 24's so I added a new coupling element(rubber) every thing fitted up nicely.
So Kurt look out for a race soon
I should have you on the 1/4 mile Kurt

Yes ladies I'm available
Well last time I sanded I looked more like a person from Somalia
I finished one side of the many layers of boot strip and started on the other side but my old Ozito sanding pad failed me so I called it a day

Ill return next weekend and do some more maybe my prop shaft might be finished as well

You're getting a fair amount of work don HG! Hat's off to you!
There is still a lot to be done on Warana but she is showing signs of opening up with the warm dry weather so it's time to get her back in the drink.
So I have the first coat of antifoul on and launch date is early next week. That will mean doing work on the cabin sides and inside while on the mooring with battery powered tools. It's been every day off from my day job for September and October working on the boat including the school holidays. I have really enjoyed getting back to doing some work of this type but must say I'm looking forward to enjoying some time on the water again.

Hi HG

Down here we get a fair bit of staining around the waterline and one of the blokes did the boot stripe on his 40 footer in a wide vinyl sticker instead of paint about 12 months ago and it seems to be working ok

If you want moe info I can ask him

Very clever selfie there Hugh Grant, using the car window as a mirror. And ladies.. note he says he's available. He looks like he's ready to change a baby's nappy geared up as he is..

Hi NaZ,
Mmm...I like that. Looks tough, like a good heavy weather capable yacht, out of interest, what is it/she?
Looks like a smart manageable sailplan, does the inventory run to a big overlapping headsail? Looks like it could handle it!
Edit: I was looking at if you extended your boom you could seriously produce a lot of weather helm!

She looks beautiful. Most Adams 40 centre cockpit yachts I have seen have been shoal draught or centre boarders.

Yours with the deep fin keel is a powerful yacht and certainly capable of taking you around the world with speed, style and comfort.

Congratulations again on your purchase. Stay on top of the rust situation. As soon as you see a break in the paint system, treat it and repair it.

Thanks Shaggy, she (always a "she" hey!) is a 2007 12.5m Adams steel hull - heavy displacement at 14t.
Got a large 65hp Perkins onboard, I'm hoping it will be powerful enough to handle strong tides up north one day.
The previous owner bought nothing but the best gear for it, lived on it for 5 years with his wife, after that long she decided she had had enough and wanted to by a house, so they sold it to me.
The headsail is a 110% I think. She also has a staysail that has never been used.
As far as weather helm goes, I was in 20+ knots a couple of days ago to see how she handled it with all canvas up and yes, steering a straight course started to become difficult without easing the main. But I expected that - so I put the first reef and all good.

Thanks for the kind words Cisco!
The security of a stronger hull and encapsulated keel in a steel hull overrode the desire of a fiberglass even though I know the maintenance will be higher - just personal preference that's all!

Nice Adams Nowandzen!

I was going to look at that one but ended up buying my Adams 42 also from Adelaide. May I suggest you do a shake up cruise to the Sir Joseph banks group of islands in Spencer gulf before departing to the East coast. I am currently just returning and have a freezer full of K.G Whitting and calamari. Reading the visitors book in the old homestead one sums the islands up as the southern equivalent to the whitsundays islands.
It is also a good direct route from port Lincoln to robe in the south east. Let me know your thoughts I'm out there most every second week.
Regards

I thought it was good value to Andy that's why I mentioned it.
.He looks like he is kept busy with a many speed boats . But said when I dropped it off 'Ive a few others to do so Ill batch them was his quote . rang me a week later saying it was ready to pick up happy as .
Early start on the boat tomorrow. I thought all the oil leak out of the gear box was coming out of the old dip stick tube but there's a weep out of the rear gear box seal so I picked one up at the local bearing shop for $5 to suit the BW6 gear box 32 x 45 x 7 is the seal size

Dam seal is 30 x 40 x 7 not the above. So now I have to wait till Monday to refit it . I pulled the motor out and fitted the prop shaft and a drilled out engine mount bolt I snapped the head off last week . There sure not Cat bolts And slide her back in place . So tomorrow I align the coupling to the prop shaft and shim the engine mounts as required. Then on Monday after buying the right seal remove the gear box side part of the coupling and fit the gear box seal housing and assemble every thing. Then fit the started and alternator back on the engine and sort out the engine loom.
My spare time will be focused on the old boot strip removal one side to go . and then prep for two pack on the top sides

Painted the interior with a little help from my 9yr old. It will take ms just as long as it did to paint it to remove all the paint drips :)
I didn't have the heart to stop her. Pretty much right to go now to upload the ad and put her on the market, make way for the new boat.
