That's where I'm at. Clearly the RS is a pretty sick winging wing. Surf, flat water pumping - pumping in general is my next enquiry. Been on the blower to a number of crew and a lot of them run different foil systems - one for winging, one for surfing/paddle etc. or they get one that maximises their fav activity and put up with limitations in other disciplines. Is this the goldilocks wing .. Or doesn't this exist.
Merry Xmas all!!
Hmm given the Rs1300 is very similar dims to the PNL, maybe that would be a better flat water pumping machine. I honestly don't know though as I've never tried flat water pumping.
Having said that I'm sure between the 1400/1150 you will be covered.
I have RS1000 and GTS1400 and really stoked with that combo but I am 105kg+, for a lighter person RS1150 and GTS750 would be a killer combo. But I have not tried the RS600 which I fear would be a bit small for me. But you never know. Demo as much as you can.
Real first world problem
Merry Xmas everyone. Happy foiling
Well I can pretty much use the 1250 as a one wing quiver to be honest. But then again I can adjust tails and shimming based on conditions. Just spoilt for choice with other armie wings in the quiver. Recon I could make the 1000 do the same.
Also RS1300 v PNL185 as Iv used both in the surf but not the 1300 DW. initial thoughts on RS was that it's a more maneuverable version of the PNL.
Still by far the absolute best setup I have ever used.
Such perfect little pus filled waves today. Nice long comfortable pump runs to awesome link up ripping turns as hard as my skill level allows. Repeat.
RS1000/14.5FTS/32.5 Red pilot to make the whole thing fast.
Did a downwinder tow assisted yesterday on the 1150. Clocked 48.8kmh on some of the drops. Was on a 4'10 JS, 32.5 mast and FTL here's some of what my watch got.
650 will carry a much higher speed and be more manageable at that speed
Dlyan was out in the ocean bumps not towing. 1150 will handle a high speed as a sprint but it isn't designed for sustained high speed.
You will indeed have to sort out a go. I warn you though you'll buy one.
On a side note the run of epic .9-1.1m summer swell continues. I used to ride this sort of swell on a 160/190, now the 1000.
I'm pumping further and linking more waves more easily than ever before on a much smaller foil. CRAZY. Taking off later and steeper than I normally do and it loves it. God damn does it turn too. I cannot wait to see what it's like with the 12.5 FTS when they become available. Sorry I know my raving is getting boring.
805standup - prone. 90kg wet.
The above photo is my 4'9 Sunova. I run a longer board as I find it beneficial for the faster moving swell down here and I'm about 190cm tall. I have had a 44 board and it was too hard in longer period swell.
