hi Dave
I lost most of those vids when I transfered files to a new 6 TB hard drive.
The pics above were screen grabs I took before I lost the footage.
I never made a video of it cuz the waves were such junk and looking straight down at my feet makes you dizzy.
Merry Christmas Breezeoids!
5-6' forecast for Christmas Eve around here

Style A1.... size for 9'2
same bag all traditional shapes like Acid, Flow, Flash, Creek
Thanks rick
still learning the board as there hasn't been much surf around here of late...the creek is about subtly minor feet movement but use your weight where as the old hokua x32 you plonk yer big back foot to make it work ..
Just wondering, with so many size options for this model, is there a 'guide' for length to rider weight ratio.?
The Creek has good stability by volume.
If you have a volume where you are comfortable, look at the Creek that is close to that volume.
If you are not sure what volume to consider, it is fairly reliable to use standard weight to volume ratios.
Your weight in kg times "factor"
(See example at the end)
Pro factor is 1 to 1.1
Advanced is 1.2 to 1.4
Intermediate 1.5 to 1.6
Beginner = 1.7 and up
i am "advance" and weigh 107 kg
107 x 1.2 = 128 liters
To
107 x 1.4 = 149.8 liters
My winter Creek is the 148 liter 9'4to
My summer Creek is trickier
At 107 I fall right between the 8'10 & 9'1
8'10 = 125 liters
9'1 = 136 liters
I just went south to warmer water, so I need a smaller board. .
I just ordered the 9'1 because the 8'10 would be too much work for me and the 9'1 should be a a good move down from my 9'4
I hope this long answer give people a good way to choose a Creek.
Volume is the more important yardstick than length.
perfect ratio SHEET ...Creek ...
I'm 98 kg ...I know if i take my 130 litre sunova to the beach ,i will have a good surf
no matter what conditions ...
120 if nice off shore.
(thats if you over 50)
Just had a look at the new creek in the shop, sweet board, I think this will replace the JL worldwide in the quiver !
A creek it could be ...after thinking of a custom flow ...125/30.5/8.10 ..but then thought of a speed ..but a little narrow for me ..
the creek specs fall right in my pocket ...as i've improved i feel my 130 litre flow ,feels big some times ,but enjoy the easy catch of waves
also felt it was wide, in the pocket of the wave @ 31 and a bit ...
just wondering what differences the 8,10 /125 litre creek would surf to the 8,10 flow./130 litres .it is narrower
and it is 5 litres less ..will it be easier to throw around .?narrower boards usually are.?anyone ridden one
Tardy,
The speed / creek tail (pulled in with channels) and higher rocker is where it's at for high performance waves.
My custom Creek (9'0x 30.75x129L- i'm nearly 110kg dry) is a weapon when waves are OH. I do feel that my Creek needs to be right in the pocket to really shine - as in it needs push in the water to boogie. (I'm using 105 sides and 94 centre fin). Snaps are super quick. Paddles really straight (which surprised me).
IMO, The flatter rocker and wider tail / hip of the flow suit fatter/ smaller waves, or if you prefer surfing the shoulder more than in the pocket.
So I guess it comes down to the conditions and style you prefer...
Well I'm off to test both 8'4 and 8'7 Creek...
I didn't think I'd be changing one of my boards so soon, but I'm now looking at parting with my 8'10 Speeed.. I never thought I'd say that
Watching James cut some mighty fine moves on that Orange tint one has made me think either the 8'4 or 8'7 could replace my Speeed.. There's ten ltrs difference and an inch width, dilemma though is I've already got an 8'7 Flow which I love... and my Speeed which I also love... and the Flow might be too similar a size to the Creeks...
Argh
Thanks Mr Creek ....i think your surfing better on that board Too.
it really does turn quite sharply ...and holds a nice speed after the turns ..looks great .
Whats some reviews on the 9'1 creek? Looking for something with a bit more glide on initial take off and obviously some wave performance while still retaining some form of stability while waiting for waves.
Will be testing a 8'10 speed and 9'5 speed as the local does not have a demo 9'2.. also no creeks to demo.
Currently riding a 9'2 x 32 148l evoke..
Rick
Thanks for the video of the "Creek" in action! Wow.......that is ripping surfing.........for anyone at any age. I love the flow, speed and grace on the wave. I'm not sure how to express this but for me you "honoured" the wave. You are an inspiration. Wow.

Day 1- Onshore closeouts, low tide, shoulder high, Creek 8'7.
Admittedly not the best conditions to test it, but did want to take it out in stuff like this because it's conditions I sometimes get at home.
Nice board, took a little while to get used to getting out of the froth to find some green before it turned in on itself.. so good at paddle out straight line speed, stable once surf stance sorted, sharp tail turns to catch the mush proved similar to my Speeed with a sunk tail it'll turn very quickly but try and turn flat and it's a big old arch before it's finally done a 180, sharp paddle into waves and whoosh! Off it goes, wasn't really expecting it to go that fast but it proved great to head of of the crumble and throw a sharp bottom turn into the froth again.. I obviously need more time on it, I'll need some home conditions before committing but it's a beautiful looking board and I like it a lot.
Tomorrow on the hunt for a better face for the 8'4.. update to follow..
Creeky, bloody sensational mate. Wish I was half that good and also wish I had the funds to buy a "Creek". Ah well ... keep on dreaming Capt'n.
