Is that 12 classes your running? I look forward to the day we can get that many people show up to a race to have that many classes, although I'm still pushing for an under 30's class.
I'm liking the look of all those 'over 50' classes. Hoping that trend makes it's way West ! Twimby, you can go the open and I'll go the 12'6" - our problem is solved !!
Great to see Cribby from Watershack supporting the event too - nice one.
Yeah Troy looks awesome, our squad will be there for sure, they're all keen as, hopefully conditions are just like today..... pretty damn good out there
Yeah Kelly, conditions were on today. If we get the 28th like today, it will be all time. I guess the best thing is that this is a chance to set SUP racing in good step by supporting races like this. I know all the local crews are pumped and Swanie has tuned up the Sunny Coast guys. I know a few of those will be setting a strong pace. Hoping the southerners will make the trip up too and show what their cooking up, and knowing some of the guys and girls that have been jet setting paddlers of late, their in for a great shot.
There are so many top World Class Paddler's along the East Coast. And this race has definately raised the bragging rights level. Not only will the "12 Towers Ocean SUP Race" be hottly contested but will also be one of those huge social and fun events where the race is catered for all abilities.
It doesn't matter what race or event you contest, by just having a go, willing to complete it or reach a set goal is a victory in itself.
Well done Peasey On putting this 12 Towers Downwind race together (its taken SUPSA 4 years) I recon you'll get a lot of crew hope you get good Downwind conditions Good paddlers will do this 12km race in under the hour.
Hey Phil, just as we talked about a couple of months back. It has been a long time coming so I hope everyone gets behind the race and supports it. As you said, Hawaii has something on just about every weekend but their conditions are pretty much direct downwind, hence why the Hawaiian Paddlers are at the top of their game.
Yeah I believe there will be some very quick times. You could throw a blanket over at least 7 or 8 paddlers to take the honours in the "12 Towers Ocean SUP Race".
Come on "Mother Nature" cut us some slack on the 28th with some perfect conditions! Anyway Iron, I guess its a start huh!
Cheers buddy
yesterday was awesome.
get those conditions and it would a right royal battle for the guns and big bragging rights
Its great to see a few people that have entered and enquired on the "12 Towers Ocean SUP Race" are first timers to this style of racing. One had his first time out in the ocean on the weekend!
Although there will be the Elite Racers vying for the numero uno, the race is designed for all ages and abilities.
The invitation is extended to anyone who is in it to race, beat their personal goals or just have leisurely fun paddle!
Entries are now open. Check out www.supsa.org for all details!
Spoke with bart last night and looks like they are trying to come over for the race!!! As long as airfares and every thing else lines up they could be there!!!
Forecast is looking better now than it did yesterday. It's gone from NE to ESE. Still a long way off but if conditions are anything like the last 3 days it'll be awesome!
Can you pay on the day as I may be working
Is a legrope the only requirement - for safety
WINDGURU is not looking good for Sunday 28th East Wind up to 30 knots East Swell up to 4 metres

I find WINDGURU tobe the most accurate then BOUYWEATHER
I think any board will be good. Word on the street is you don't have to be the worlds best paddler to be a winner. Although some of the best will be on show and probably competing for bragging rights
