Is that 12 classes your running? I look forward to the day we can get that many people show up to a race to have that many classes, although I'm still pushing for an under 30's class.

Yeah Surf4Fun. Would be great to see that many people to fill all classes. You can always cater for everyone but it's a case of everyone supporting you. Anyway mate, as they say "If you build it, they will come". I believe we have enough SUP enthusiasts in our country to have SUP Events running of its own back. As long as we can all get together for an event to have a few laughs and a couple of coldies, I think we are in good shape!

As for an under 30's class you young pup, i'm pushing for under 40's if thats the case!!

I'm liking the look of all those 'over 50' classes. Hoping that trend makes it's way West ! Twimby, you can go the open and I'll go the 12'6" - our problem is solved !!
Great to see Cribby from Watershack supporting the event too - nice one.

Hey ChickenStix,
Yeah Cribby has put up all the prizes. We're very fortunate to have someone like him as passionate about the sport as we are!

Yeah Kelly, conditions were on today. If we get the 28th like today, it will be all time. I guess the best thing is that this is a chance to set SUP racing in good step by supporting races like this. I know all the local crews are pumped and Swanie has tuned up the Sunny Coast guys. I know a few of those will be setting a strong pace. Hoping the southerners will make the trip up too and show what their cooking up, and knowing some of the guys and girls that have been jet setting paddlers of late, their in for a great shot.
There are so many top World Class Paddler's along the East Coast. And this race has definately raised the bragging rights level. Not only will the "12 Towers Ocean SUP Race" be hottly contested but will also be one of those huge social and fun events where the race is catered for all abilities.
It doesn't matter what race or event you contest, by just having a go, willing to complete it or reach a set goal is a victory in itself.

Well done Peasey On putting this 12 Towers Downwind race together (its taken SUPSA 4 years) I recon you'll get a lot of crew hope you get good Downwind conditions Good paddlers will do this 12km race in under the hour.

Hey Phil, just as we talked about a couple of months back. It has been a long time coming so I hope everyone gets behind the race and supports it. As you said, Hawaii has something on just about every weekend but their conditions are pretty much direct downwind, hence why the Hawaiian Paddlers are at the top of their game.
Yeah I believe there will be some very quick times. You could throw a blanket over at least 7 or 8 paddlers to take the honours in the "12 Towers Ocean SUP Race".
Come on "Mother Nature" cut us some slack on the 28th with some perfect conditions! Anyway Iron, I guess its a start huh!
Cheers buddy

Its great to see a few people that have entered and enquired on the "12 Towers Ocean SUP Race" are first timers to this style of racing. One had his first time out in the ocean on the weekend!
Although there will be the Elite Racers vying for the numero uno, the race is designed for all ages and abilities.
The invitation is extended to anyone who is in it to race, beat their personal goals or just have leisurely fun paddle!

That's huge news Jacko. Hopefully everything can be arranged smoothly and have Bart and Connor over for the "12 Towers". We're already fielding a World Class field so with those guys here would be the icing on the cake! There's going to be some fast times!

Forecast is looking better now than it did yesterday. It's gone from NE to ESE. Still a long way off but if conditions are anything like the last 3 days it'll be awesome!

Hey Flounder. As you know that it has been insane the last few days. I got another one in this arvo from the Tweed back to Alley. It was a bit hard going through Snapper to Tugun with the slight offshore but then swung south with good runs from there to the point. Very fun!
Yeah, it is a long way off but it's good to see the graph change back to the south. The entries a coming in pretty fast. This is definitely going to be a World Class field with some super quick times. There are quite a few paddlers competing in what will be their first introduction to racing which is truly commendable. All of these SUP enthusiasts will truly make the event a huge success! Check out www.supsa.org for all the details on the "12 Towers Ocean SUP Race".

I think any board will be good. Word on the street is you don't have to be the worlds best paddler to be a winner. Although some of the best will be on show and probably competing for bragging rights
