Had to take my name out of Saturday
Its starting to looks like I might have to enter 2 teams, as this one is fast filling up. I am still waiting to slot in Billy, Dale, Noel (who wants 6 hours on sat), TeaTree and several others.
Just remember its not a race and you can paddle whatever you like: including paddleboards, surfboards, skis, canoes, outriggers, surfboats, whatever...
Send me an email if you want to join either this team or a second team that I might start up tomorrow if there is enough interest.
Yeah, I'll call you in the morning. I've cleared the decks so I can chip in as many hours as you need. I don't mind the night either. I'm used to being on call. It should be nice and balmy out on the water at night too.
Looks like there is a few hours on the dog watch to fill. Bung me in the gaps from 6pm and through the night.
Jacko can tell me jokes and my missus will make energy cookies.
mate contact daneli, we need you mate and more. come on people.
Can you just confirm that paddlers don't need to be in a "team" as such? That maybe eliminating interested participants. Can people just pay their $25 and do a few laps? Or do one lap? Not everyone needs to do a marathon right? I think you need to encourage that more if that's what paddlers can do as the more "one lappers" on the water means the more $$$. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
That's correct Sue , you can pay $25 and just do a few laps ,it's a money raising event not a race. Are you and the family coming down ?
spot on mate. we are not trying to break records but make a heap of cash. daneli will take anyone wanting to pay and you can do as you please. hope that didnt sound suss. it has been said earlier though. i personally would love to be able to have people make up the gaps so we can achieve a fuull 24hrs.
I am keen to have a paddle for a good cause. Unfortunately cant do Saturday due to mates 40th but am prepared to limit my beer consumption to hit it early Sunday morning. Being a newbie I dont have a board right now but I do the paddle fitness classes with Justin & Jamie on sat morn and I think I recall them saying they will have the class boards available....so hopefully count me in!
Due to the overwhelming response that I have had so far I am now going to enter 2 teams. Each of these teams will have a crack at 24hrs of relay paddling.
Each paddler will try and do a minimum of 1 hour each, but groups of paddlers might also combine to handle a 1 hour time slot (eg families/groups). Anything goes in these teams so I don't really care what craft people want to paddle. We will not be racing either so its open to anyone who wants to put their hands up.
This is what the two teams look like, so far. If you want to join any of these teams let me know:

OK, You can online donate by doing the following.
Pay on the day which is great way to do it if you are coming down other wise if you can not make and would still like to help out then you can do the following!!.
Account Name: Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal
BSB 064 013
Account Number: 1000 6800
use this as the reference number: TF/11/995
If you donate online and pay your $25 for the paddle then just bring your recpit down and we will mark it off.
Cheers Jacko
BSc have just come on board for some of the event and will be set up down there with some energy drinks and stuff like that, which will be good for the guys doing the longer paddles!!!!!
I have had a few people want to donate to me for the paddle so if anyone else would like to do this that would be great!!! most are doing the 50 cents per km. So if anyone on here wants to do the same they could put on here how much they want to put on me and then at the end well go back through and work it all out, but if you put it on here its locked in
Hope this makes sence!!
Jacko!!!!!!!
