i SAW YOU BB

you were looking good .. pitty you had to go to work ..

but someone has to run the country.

I went up to the SUPER BANK (it's back) at Carlton Ri.

and after an hour of solitude Spencer joined me.

Conditions were glassy, misty, milky and chest high in the sets.
The swell was like oil and invisible until about 5 seconds before take off.
The wall was long and powerful and tightened up towards the end until you kicked out way up the river at knee hight. 200m rides. Then back out the channel
and around again like a big endless conveyor belt.

It's gotta be the best place on earth for developing SUPpers. And if you get sick of the
endless rights .. go over onto the left.

Think I'll do it again tomorrow .. 7:00 am start .. coffee @ bakery 1st.

It just never ends ..

Today was onshore rubbish

Super bank unworkable

Park krat slip

Billboard came down with the lovely S

took one look and went home.

Then we got a perfect Park Beach LAGOS

Glass, clean swell and chest high

only 3 SUPs and 1 longboard working multiple peaks.

THERE'S NO END TO IT

The moral of the story is to live local with
a view of the main breaks .. and you can
for as little as $400 to 500K .. 3 residences now available.
Email Tassie SUP for further details.

Didn't look like I was going to get a wave today so took the 12"6' for an upwinder, after an hour of upwinding I hit a beach, only to be greeted buy chest high waves breaking over what must now be Tassies first artificial reef. When I was there a few months ago 2MT was cleaning up some rubbish that had washed up on the beach, after some big winter swells washing round an old hot water cylinder the beach has been reshaped and this has also combined to reshape the bank, it was good before, but looks like it will be even better now, can't wait to give it a go when we have some swell.

Well - planning has begun on the "Tasmanian World Sup Race Invitational".

This event is going to be open to all who get themselves on the "tassiesup" email list.

It will comprise both flatwater and open water races with classes for sup surf boards as well as sup race boards. The sup surf classes will be all about fun and be short courses and the serious sheep station races will be for the 12.6 racers in open water over both short and long (not too long mind you-) courses.

Dates, location and final class details will be posted as soon as we have a full committee meeting and nut it all out, but be comforted by the fact that it will not happen until after the thaw

The overall theme for this event is FUN & FAMILY - yes there will be a couple of serious offshore races for those that are into that kinda thing, but on the whole it is about getting together and having a bit of friendly competition and sharing a few laughs and getting the whole family involved and paddling in some of the worlds most stunning locations.

Keep an eye on this thread for more details and to keep right up to date shoot us your emaill address at tassiesup@gmail.com and you will be kept in the loop.

Come on 2MT, you must have known about this, thats why you have cut down your 13'6" to a 12'6", don't know if the square nose will work in the up winder to well though.

faster than my tank tested "blimp nose" model
then I'll buy it.

I thought 12'6 boards were old school.

Should 14 be the new boards of choice for us Tassie boys for race and DW. Makes sense to me as they are faster, handle DW'S much better and are just as surfable as the 12.6 bop boards. They do everything a 12.6 does and better plus they do more.

Mat - you may as well claim the state 14.0 title because I think you may have the only one in the state.

Mat doesn't want to saw the ends off, like I did

But I agree .. the longer boards are better for all those reasons.

But, if you want fame and fortune, you have to BOP on a BOP board.

The best unlimited board in the State is "Helga"

18' custom, owner gone os (troppo) $1,000.

Got Roaring Beach, Nubeena, today.

Low incoming tide, light offshore.

Swell 2' overhead and settie.

There are banks but it was like a lottery

trying to get some shape with down the line action.

The big takeoffs were great.

Just me and two shortboarders.

Might go again tomorrow on a higher tide.

Any takers ?? ...
