It's been a very good week and finished it with a nice surf at Invys Ozone St . Nice number of SUPs on the water mixed in with the surfers. Even let them have a few waves
"Team Sunova" were the winners at town beach today in the over 60 years division of the local sup contest......
Well there were only two entrants.....Towball on 9'5 speed.....me on 9'2
think towball might have been the winner as my waves mostly just closed out and demolished me
Makorori Point......biggish......lumpy and bumpy and sloppy
thought i did okay on my sunova 9'2 today. Kneeling or sitting most of the time....but being a "stand up guy" when paddling for a wave......is a difference between the 9'5 and the 9'2
Aggy main beach this morning, up the guts on the outgoing on my 10' Slog. Nearly got toes over the nose. So close. Up near the point this arvo on the smik gun, paddling my guts out charging down some very full waves. Thank fark the wind has dropped. It's been howling since that fat biatch Debbie went past!
Nothing for me today.
Raining, windy, bit of an issue with the board.
I hope you have a good story about how that happened, you know a 3m shark took a bite at me, or a Croc hit me with its tail????

Nope, just stupidity.
Paddled the morning at Black Rock, quick and rushed.
Put the board on the roof, saw a nice picture opportunity.
Took the photo, public holiday, dad with a young kid was admiring the board.
Spoke to him, packed up, and drove off.
Went Black Rock to Dingley, then Springvale Road to Frankston Freeway.
Freeway 100km/h to Golf Links Road, Baxter - Tooradin Road 100km/h.
Board left the roof out of Pearcedale.
Well. 7/8ths of it did.
Back tie down held, snapped the board and steering wires.
Glad I didn't kill someone.
Put the remaining bit of the board in the car, went back, retrieved the rest.
Couldn't understand where the tie down had gone if it broke - searched on foot 500m back, drove back a couple of km and gave up.
Found the tie down in the back of the car the next morning, rolled up neatly.
Don't get distracted when packing up, and don't rush!
But I'm improving - last time I lost all of a board off the roof, this time only 7/8ths.
And I found it.
ouch!
hope you get insurance claim on that?
and get a shaper to reshape into a 14ft maybe?
Don't think insurance should pay for stupidity.
Might give reshaping a go myself, but projects are lining up.

Well on the up side at least you have other boards to use???
surf report today said...Town/Pipe
Pumping in town this morning, clean and offshores with 3-4ft+ SE gorundswell.
But they were kind of exaggerating.......think it was only about 3 foot
Zappers, with DJ, PT, Jayce, Tiga, Megan, Notto and an assorted crew of other friendly Suppers (of course!).
Discovered the top end of my SUP balance skills after swapping my 9'5" x 32" Mana for Jayce's 8'9" x 29" Prowave.
Grrrrreeaatt!! board on a wave, but just way too hard to stand on and get onto the mushy zappers waves at high tide.
Got a smack in the mouth from it on The Set of the day - and missed the set, of course!
