Great work AL. Bringing back a few memories.
Good to see someone was smart enough to take a camera.. Iphones are rubbish for taking board photos...

Now how is your new one going???

Hey SP,called in to see where Bob's up to today mate,he's finished shaping it,looks great,I almost changed my mind when I was there about painting it
Because it looked real nostalgic with the stringers and tail block.Better not though ,go with original plan now it's just got to be painted and glassed

Look forward to the finished photos Al.

A bit of colour is always good. Maybe a classic look for your next one..

Greetings gents picked up this bad boy yesterday.
it may not be a purists board but by all accounts this go like a rocket .... Have not ridden yet, normally I'm buying short boards these longboard things are hefty on the old wallet.

it all started with a 94 of gumtree a SEL I bought it thinking yeah I'll ride it now and than, I can now get up on the nose (no style yet) and I have ridden it probably as much as my shortie over last 2 months.

so I dropped the hammer and went out and got myself something that I can turn yet still get longboard glide on.

fin set up is controversial I got a thruster set and some rear quads to try out but I think I'm going to buy 8 or 9 inch for the middle box with flyers like a 2+1

this is the hihp model and apparently it is the newer construction stronger???! ( no idea it's all jargon)

i looked at at a few and this is the one at first glance that caught my eye, I reckon it could go in a barrel and I like the pulled in tail.
other than that no specific reason I chose tolhurst or this model.

there was a 94 bear their as well that got a close run but it was more a nose rider like what I already have

Oh the texts must be going full steam

I remember when poor old drip copped a beautiful welcoming from Mac about being someone with multiple user names and all the usual cia stuff...So much primo imaginary paranoia was that thread then old mate from nz with the new McT... damn lol

I hope you boys can keep this good stuff coming

And that was a quick delete lol...someone must have pulled rank

oOps I posted under my Razz username

Farking sexy as board mate, looks like it will go great

I think I may have seen that one myself. I've been looking for a 6'5 to 6'8 Indo gun over the last week.

Consider Surf Eclipse on Ebay if your just chasing a centre fin to use with fins you already have
http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/surfeclipse/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

Or www.shapers.com.au/2-1-set-ups/
If your looking to buy 2 + 1

I'd recommend these www.shapers.com.au/carbon-flare-performance-1/
Smaller fins are better for those coming from a shortboarding background in my opinion.

No wait scratch that recommendation unless your in the unusal position of requiring future sides.

This is a good deal http://www.shapers.com.au/carbon-stealth-jc01/

These a very similar to what I use on my CW 9'4 Whalebone. Same size at least.

What sort of dimensions you after? I have a few that would might fit the bill fit the bill. Yahoos and AL Beans. Most do 4-6 a treat down here, and will hold 8 if you can paddle yourself onto them. Solid Bears no worries, EB Bombie at the same size, no chance (at least for me). Those sort of boards.

I love mctavish Mac.

I even told someone they were awesome in another thread...

Your fishing skills are **** mac

Plus my post mentioned nothing about brand names except in describing a posters board..

Plus I only posted after the illogical and somewhat bizarre rant the dog had about the bloke you want to play eye spy with...

As I said keep the good stuff coming gents.. I'm mcloving it

And Mac the value added was lots. Stop being paranoid about new posters..... and be thankful your forum is not completely dead yet like the short board room ...

That looks like a very similar shape to the 9'1 Surftech Tolhurst. Unreal board.

Hey yeah it is the tolhurst 91 but for whatever it's worth it's the hihp ??? High performance something or other.
apparently that have another one the diamond tail but I liked this one more.
its the new new construction????
