Cronulla Alley, 60's. Thanks Al, brings back a few memories.

No worries ET,I knew someone would know it,I used to surf there in my teens, bit of swell in that pic
Here's another one ET,North Cronulla 1962
Aaaahhh the carpark above "The Wall". Spent many days surfing out in front of "The Wall" and just hanging.
I still have a scar on my nose from about 1968 when I copped my mal in the face, broken nose and needed 14 stitches. Pretty much straight in front of the FJ.
Thanks
ET.
haha,I was a bit luckier I had an old Gordon and Smith surfing(learning) at Manly,it had the old black legrope on it,came off the board and put the head up to the surface to see it flying back at me,didn't duck quick enough and copped a smash in the gob, cut on outer lip and one tooth out, they had hard tails on them back then

No legropes when that happened to me Al.
We did have what we called "leashes" around '74. These were an actual "dog collar" strapped around our ankles and a nylon cord tied through a hole in the fin and the other end tied to the metal loop on the collar.
It worked but would nearly pull your leg off in big waves.
