surfed queeny in the morning, very average, and bommie in the arvo. Bommie was better but I was having a lot of trouble getting hold a decent one outside and I was thinking about going inside, then a gem of a wave came through and I paddled like crazy to get on.

I did finally manage to get on but by that time I was way up on the lip, but for once in my life I was actually doing the right thing and paddling into it diagonally. The drop was a real buzz and I heard a couple guys whistling and hooting after the drop, as it was walling up and I was trimming.

I wished I could have acknowledged them but I was too busy concentrating on a) staying on the board & b) not sh!tting in my wetty

Not a very consistent part of the world surf wise but good when it all comes together. Swell is a bit east here today with a howling offshore. Might go later when the wind drops and the tide comes up a bit.

Whoopi and surrounding beaches. Lots of great little spots and you can normally find a spot out of the wind if its annoying you - Arra needs a decent swell and is a pretty weak wave.....if I was you I would drive 1.5 hrs north to one of the best waves I have ever surfed

Diggers beach, entrance directly accross the road from the Big Banana, is often reliable if the wind is not getting into it.

It hasn't been a secret for a long time. Best right I've ever surfed. Back beach gets good waves too at times.Fair hike from Coffs though. Park Peach near the Hoey always seems to have OK banks.

another couple of options are:

Drive to Emerald beach, if it's blown out with a northerly make your way up to the headland parking area (BTW, the headland is called "Look at Me Now" dead set) the one with the kangaroos all over the place and check the break at the northern end of Mooney, it's an easy walk down the track.

Bit further up is Sandy Beach and it's the same deal there, only the break is called Back Sandy and it's a bit more of a hike to get to it over Bare Bluff.

The next break would be Woopi main, but you would need to be real lucky to find it working, best to drive up to the headland and look at Woopi Back Beach, don't try walking down from the headland, there's a good parking spot behind it down the bottom, but it's very secluded and there's a few ferals in town so don't leave any valuables in the car to be seen.

I hate thieves . I've had a car broken into at a local spot around here and there was clearly nothing in the car but that didn't stop these grubs from ramming a screwdriver into the lock and breaking it. The Saudis have got the right idea . Chop chop

"Caves", now there's a spot I've never ticked off my list, and I can't understand why, it's not like it's a million miles away, and I've passed by it more times than I can count, but I've never bothered to pull in .

Same deal with Catherine Hill Bay, I just never have the sense to go in there.

Took a drive down to Mandurah today for the boat show and was thinking i'd look for a soft easy paddle wave..Didn't find one to suit the SB but man what a LB heaven

In fact i think i'll book holidays down that way for next year. One wave (Falcon) had no less than 32 grommets in the water
