Was an onlooker at Point Packed this morning, made the call to surf the straight handers down the beach a bit to keep sanity and watch the point, some awesome waves ridden at the point but also saw some hilarious burns, wipe outs and empty ones going through!

Just as I was packing up saw one set clean everyone up that tried to tame it, at least 4 take-offs on a hiding to nothing.

Two surfs yesterday broke me for today. It was so good I couldn't leave anything in the tank. This morning was a little inco and my nemesis was in the water so I passed.

Some big bombs Trigg to Scarbs...sadly most are very straight with nowhere to go except the TOAD barrell. Couple of guys scoring some nice set waves at the busiest end of that stretch, but having to play dodgems thru the inside.

What poo... was half the size and twice as dumpy today with a strong under-current and rips a plenty. And to make it even better the wind came in at 10am... I went out at Second car park and no one was getting anything worth mentioning... Drove north over the hill on the way home to see SEVEN guys all surfing the same wave at Mettams lefts!

Will no doubt be chaos tomorrow.

Had an okay morning. Managed to get a little covered up on my first wave and then it was all down hill from there.

I took a wave on the head last night so hard it gave me a nose bleed..

Only struggled into a few better ones, but got guillotined on plenty of others but at least it was wet

Crowds everywhere all weekend, couldn't do it at least 50on the northern reefs. Unbelievable, couple waves but in all honesty it was that busy I drove home without getting wet. Checked point packed today, same at least a million and the banks down the beach were straight. We need a good storm

Yep, here's to a very stormy winter. At least kooks and paddle boarders down go out in the heavy onshore dredgers :)

After two days surfing the metro circus (I got out after barely an hour) I headed north today. LBB was full of weed and the wind was a very strong SSE, but it was good enough to spend 3hrs out there picking off the odd shoulder high peeler. My arms are dead.

Much respect to you GPA. My arms were giving out after only an hour and a half, without any serious paddling, distance wise. I'm gonna be in trouble when we get Proper waves
Such a sh!t summer/autumn.

Hey smicko, were you surfing a spooky spot with two shortboarders on Sunday morning? I drove along for a look, no cars and suddenly three guys in the water, one matching your profile. I did a double take, still couldn't see the car. Freaked me out a bit at first, thought I'd seen a ghost. I stood on the dunes watching for 15 min or so.

Yeah that was Smicko. I was one of the short boarders. Wasn't too great but definitely got the arms rolling.

It was much better elsewhere but I surfed the same spot the day before and got a few.

Haha we drove north and south a few times, couldn't find anything overly decent. Maybe my standards are too high after just getting back from a quick Bali trip

Yeah - I got out after 3 waves in 45min... Trigg 2nd looked 'OK' but the rips and under-current were bad. Even the lids were struggling to get anything...

One of those days where is was (much) worse than it looked.

Huge sets on the head last night. Boards in the head, boards tombstoning. People bleeding. Some good waves ridden and some wide eyed thousand yard stares wondering when the next set like that would come. It was almost too big too be ridden. Almost.

Couple ok waves this morning up the coast on the reefs, 20 in the water mateeeee why doesn't anyone work anymore.. couple good ones nothing special; but broke the drought and a couple nice sections to whack

Wetsuit review, bought a new steamer, tried on the o neil psycho 3 but I hate the new batwing design where ya gotta pull the thing over ya head like a choker chain, all the new wetties got them now, so had a look at the zipperless ripcurl not bad at all until me mate told me he has the springie and it takes him 20 minutes and human contortion to get on/off.

Tried on the dawn patrol with the chest zip, no choker thing pretty comfy flexy, first trial this morning and its warm pretty stoked with it.

Haha the old "Hey mate can you help me get this thing off"

My Xcel is the same especially as my right arm (the one to have to pull it down) is my week shoulder/arm, thanks to shoulder issues. On the weekend i got stuck in my springy also.. But i think that was a different issue as it had obviously some how shrunk

I've only go the one wet suit, a 2mm chest zip. Had it fr almost two years now but it only took using it once for me to realise I will never use a back zip again.
