Surfs up! If you didn't get a wave this morning you weren't trying.

Just spent 4 hours down at Secrets.
Was the 2nd guy in the water and had an absolutely glorious surf. For the first time in ages I had to get out because I was tired...not because the waves died.

Most certainly a great way to break the drought.

Man, it was draining where I was. Reliving the teenage years of my youth. OK, enough clues to where I was. I had a 1km stretch of beach to myself. Banks a bit straight, but occasionally they'd line up.

Had another quick arvo sesh at Cott, tea rooms. Empty and some nice shorebreaks rolling through. Could get a nice ride but man the wipeout was shallow and unpleasant

Where are there any tea rooms at Cott? You have funny names for things. Cott was as good as flat this morning when I drove past. It seems it's another year of no good banks there.

hahah I mean Tea House :p You know, that massive building at Cott on the beach is called the "Indiana Tea House" so that's what I call the spot. So people know exactly where I mean along the beach As for funny names, well they make sense to me. Tea Rooms, the Dingo (everyone should know what that means) and Secrets...secrets is pretty obvious too

Yeah I went there to have a beer after my morning surf at Secrets. Pulled into the carpark around 1.30 and saw 2 nice glassy waves roll in so figured "stuff it, going back in"

Was a bit cold though...in boardies

Hope you lot grabbed some goodness over the weekend!!

Was out up my way this morning and we had a terrorist show up.
This damn seal was just harrasing . Damn thing would pop up right next to me , look me in the eye literally 2 meters away. He had this damn squid which he kept throwing around.
Every time I'd try and catch a wave it would go the same one and either drop in or block me......

No joke !

This went on for about 15 mins before I gave up. Funny but a bit of a pain at the same time.

holidays!!!! drove to my local at 8.30, had full leave pass despite a weekend of surf. Saw lines immediately from the elevated position as you head down the track, once on the beach I noticed a distinct lack of humanity, not one person on the beach for the best part of 2k's. Every spot was working but chose my old favourite (hollow, reefy left). I was out for ten minutes when a Prado showed up, didn't recognise it or the 2 occupants, one guy got out straight away and paddled out. The hackles went up a bit but he said g'day and asked a few questions about the wave and revealed how he heard about it. This guy wasn't local but knew the wave sharing policy of the spot and stuck to it, mate came out and was just as cool about it. Had an awesome session, it just goes to show you that the spirit of surfing still exists and that most crew(especially the older members!) know how to do the righty. I know it's not always the case so I thought I'd share a positive with you.

yep - went out both days to a faily well known northern beachie... clean head high waves, easy paddle and some with shape...

...at worst there were 5 teenage lids sharing the RH peak... so I went across to the left and had it to myself for over an hour before a knee-boarder joined me. He too commented on the lack of crowds...

bizarre to hear it from so many people surfing different locations given the conditions were pretty good.

Had a quick sesh at the cott tea rooms.
Was the only one out. Looked like crap from the carpark but thought I'd give it a god. A few nice rides on the odd waist-shoulder height lump. Still had fun.

Some guys on the beach yelled at me to paddle in because they saw a shark. Not surprising after all the recent sighting. Judging by their description I'd say it was NOT a dolphin.

That's certainly a hot spot for them, but are you sure they weren't just cheering you on suba?

I once caught a 7' shovelnose ray off the groyne, but that would only gum you to death. Although it was big and powerful and put up a good fight. Millions and millions of Port Jackson's off the groyne at night, eating anything that sinks to the bottom. I doubt whitey would come in that close to shore (it's been breaking about 5m off the beach lately) in that enclosed area near the groyne, but then again I was shocked at the attack at North Cott so close to the beach so you never know.

Yeah who knows. I have seen a White Pointer in along the groyne before, in person when we surfed in the evening. The beach was closed the next day and there was a positive ID on it

Ohwell...sharks don't worry me. Seen plenty, never been bitten.
