Perth Metro was given a favourable review by Mad Marz on Srosurf, so Trigg was busy this morning:

are you sure that photo wasnt taken at secrets on Sunday. I'm sure I can see suba and doggie in there somewhere.

thats coz your used to Trigg point .
I reckon it was madness. took off and had to dodge about 4 people in my way on most waves.

Ha! havnt surfed the point for years!!!

I nearly ran over a bloke that had snaked me on the wave before, I had just swapped boards with a mate and a nice right came through. Didnt see him until the last moment, lucky he was quick on the duck dive

Seemed ok too me with the crowds but I dont surf it all the time and Im not that worried about crowds as long as its not madness. I guess you live down there ay?

Crowds can suck but I reckon the mood of the crowd is more of an issue and you can feel it from the carpark as soon as you get out of the car sometimes.

I have had some really good sessions with crowds that looked from a distance to much to handle and have been out with a small crowd and had a vibe that just ruins in.

I have also got into the habit of avoiding the early when I know its going to be good and going down later in the day have scored a few really good sessions around lunctime after the morning crew have mellowed or buggered off!

Ive got nothing except the cat pis-ed on my wetsuit and it stinks to high heaven. I rinsed it and dried still stunk, washed in the machine twice and still has a slight pong.

Will dry out and see but could be time for a new wettie[}:)]

Try Dettol, I regularly rinse my wettie with a splash of Dettol in the laundry basin, works a treat.

I agree on that, sometimes its just kaos. Recently Ive had some great sessions with people that I have never seen before, I like it when people chat to me in the water, it gives you that stoked feeling that you just dont get when everyone is too serious

General consensus, was today any good at the northern beaches? Last time I remember going up there with this size swell it couldn't cope. Was summer like closeouts, 5x the size.

nothing like nasal wash out to clear out the snot
take a few tumbles and all should be good

It's the coughing up a lung bit that bothers me! and the general lack of fitness that seems to hang over you following a cold...

Bloody people coughing on a plane should be forced to wear a bio-hazard mask.

Then avoid Perth's favourite beachie. Even if the waves are good there is always this tense atmosphere everytime I paddle out. Blokes seem on edge even if you are asking what the time is. Even if the waves are good, I'm avoiding there from now on unless it's only me on a bank.

I just dont stress about it, unless they dropin I dont care what anyone does in the water around me. I tend to go even when its closing out just so I can even just get the drop. Just do your own thing and even the most agressive guys will just paddle away if you dont react. If your in position, far king go for it!!

was there a reasonable amount of shape though? or just drop-in-and-hope-not-to-be-smashed-by-a-closeout?

Yeah mate! It's funny, the reefs seem to have much more of a laid back atmosphere though. Blokes giving each other s*** for not going, SUP's calling shortboarders in and even the learners are generally looked after!

When in doubt paddle like they arnt there and look at the wave. Most/some people will leave you alone if you look serious when going for one. It dosnt work for me I get a bit excited when Im trying to paddle for a wave

I tried everyone I knew for company today without luck so I ended up going on my own once again. This shark situation has really put a lot of people off. (Which really is understandable).

Not as big as last time but still lots of fun!

Yeah, yesterday would have been better but one of my mates said he could go today but cancelled this morning. It was still good.
