Aaahhhh....Does it get any better??

Great angle. I've seen photos from the water level but this really gives a good idea of what it's like.

Sailed today on the river in sunny but cold conditions. Packed up at 4-30pm as my hands were going numb.

15C in Perth at 4-30pm shows the con of global warming. Put the heater on in my car to defrost.

Around five hydrofoilers and four windsurfers braved the Arctic like conditions.

Rigged my 7m Reflex but the wind was gusting 25 knots plus and not much fun trying to hold it.

Think I'll wait till at least 20 C in the future.

Thats a very over exaggerated melodramatic post thanks for the mild amusement.

Righto. Bugger Pete's "no wavesailing" rules.

Best early start to the season ever, with crew on 4.5 - 5.3 for at least 3 days already, AND a couple of grovel sessions 3 weeks ago. And still swell around :)

I've been maxxed on 5.6 (should have taken out 5.2) and big waveboard two days in a row. Scored well overhead and hollow waves at Corro - bloody awesome.

Stoke

But not getting too excited, we still have the front at the end of Sept that we always get, that will stuff up the pattern for a couple weeks, then we're on again.
Pumped for Gnaraloo in exactly 4 weeks....

Further to last - pics of Corro, the point at southern end of the launching beach two days ago

Yeah we get low spring tides but wow! No wonder the waves were a bit hard to read / hollow

The far right of this pic we sail over easily all season......

7.5 on Narrabeen lake up and down like a sea saw but still good fun, about 10 people out but mostly new faces, so a good omen for the season. Almost every one out on new free ride Neil Pride sails it was like a demo day! Oh and one Windsurfer LT who was ripping and having the most fun as well as winning the NLSC race!

The wind today started at 14knots and stayed there pretty much all day, awesome day on the water with the sun out and air temp of 19degrees.

Wind on the Swan River around 7-13 knots, very occasional gust bigger. 21 C

135 Patrik,50 Z fin and 8m Hyperglide.

Planed around 30 percent of the time. Three or four windsurfers out. A formula sailor with his 10.0 still struggled in the lulls to get going.

Was on the water for two and a half hours. The cold conditions have passed.

One 14 knot gust that lasted all of 3 minutes was the highlight. Fully powered up nearly overpowered!

One hydrofoiler was planing half the time and a few hydrofoil kites planing all the time.

One went down and the guy was in the water for a good few minutes trying to straighten his lines out etc.

Was just about worth it.

8-10 knots (measured) down in Mandurakastan got in 3/4hr after work on the foil with a 7.8m

Only non foiling time was coming back in through the snot fields as we didn't know how deep things were.

Two kiters foiling, one kiter w/o using a 17m. two w/surf foilers out both sub 8m both planing the whole time.

Yep this foiling thing offers no advantages whatsoever.

Today 24-27kn, maxxed on 5.2 and OK waves. Most guys on 4.7. Tiny swell but ultra low spring tide means at least some were OK, got a few waist high to play on. Nice low tide meant hollow and peaky so really good jumping if u timed it right.

Absolutely stoked as normal Sept means a couple of 15kn teasers that we all go grovel in, then nothing for a few weeks. So far Sept has been 3 awesome days for me, skinnier and more dedicated wavesailors than I would have had 6-8 days so far (?)

Realllllly happy

Sailed on the river today in 12-20 knots on my 7m R8 and 135 Patrik with a 50 fin.

Too much wind at the start - should have been on my 100 litre.

Wind dropped a bit after 4pm and a more comfy sail.

Managed to sail from Peli Point to the carpark in Applecross in three legs, just. First time ever in 20 years of trying in a true SW wind.

Saw three sailors plane at Peli Point when the wind dropped to around 10 knots later. Not sure if they were hydrofoils or not.

Much prefer the feel of my 100 when the wind is 15 knots and above.

Easterlies for the next few days at least.

Rigged up in 17knots, sailed in 8knots for an hour, gave up, de-rigged in 17knots while cursing a lot.
How does the bloody wind know

So I guess that must prove global warming then?
