New front door for the shed?
Doorway to the new world
mmilhazes,
Interesting selection. Are both boards for the same rider? Very close specs with similar volume and width

Have not seen the Patrick foil before
Maybe you can write a short Seabreeze review after you have had some time on water with it
Is it race or freeride ?
37cm tectonics F6 fin just arrived and like all my other tectonics fins looks awesome and actually fit the box
if the UPS tracking is to be believed my new severne overdrives will be here tuesday
As winter seems to not be coming this year to PEI I might even get to use it all before march

This round of boards will have a different lay up then the last group as I have more time this winter.
In the picture the board is 128cm long x 73.50 cm wide x 12.5 cm thick
The blank is US blank 1.5lbs eps foam with a 1/4 bass wood stringer with a deep tuttle.(I build my boxes)
Lay up on the Deck is one layer 4oz S-glass(gives the biaxial a good bond to the eps with 2 layers of Hexcel himax 4oz 12k Biaxial plus 3 patches over mast track and 2 more over the front foot straps.
Bottom is the same plus 2 extra over the box. with both the deck and bottom layer wrapped over the rails on top of each other.
Everything was bagged so it's nice and tight.
Still on the fence as to just hotcoat clear as the lay-up looks nice( I use Proset ACE-166 Clear for my layup so it's UV stable in case I what to just hot coat it) or to paint it with Awlgrip ( polyurethane topcoat) as I have access to everything supply wise (I work in a boatyard and this is where my hobby shop is at ) and it's free .
So i'll keep you posted and will post the build in the foiling group.
I'm excited for spring to come and the wind to start blowing and it's only a couple of months away.
Next to my 149cm primary daily driver. Which is still going strong
I totally destroyed my harness lines from some knockoff brand (shame on me, I know), so I had to get replacements.
I ended up grabbing the Chinook adjustable race lines (the one with a handle and cleat with very long range and lots of protective clear tubing over the majority of the length). They were SO EASY to adjust the line length and to get it totally PERFECT that I wish I had only ever gotten these lines. Will be instrumental in getting the right harness length/position for foiling (whenever I am not out trying to chase waves here).
Dyno 125. Sweet light to medium wind chuckaround hull, makes the lulls a non problem ( moreso than the 115) and feels great in little swell/ waves. Used as a single fin so far but itching for some swell to try it as a tri fin. Super happy with this.
Jealous, I'm likely getting the 115L for the good wind days

The middle one, AV Speed Modena 45 should be here anyday, thanks to Jez 2ndwind
That speed board looks tiny nestled between the new shapes...
The dedicated go fast gear hasnt changed shape much over the past 35+yrs.

Well, perhaps to the uneducated eye, (they are still pretty small) but speed boards really have changed a LOT since the 90's!
The really narrow, needle shaped boards have got wider and shorter. The mast track position is waaaay further back along with the footstrap positions. Obvious Vee, concaves etc have become much more subtle or completely absent.
In the '80's - 90's I was happily riding boards 13" to 14" (33cm-35cm) wide. We even had some boards 12" (30cm) or less. The very narrowest boards used by the smaller sailors are now 37cm-41cm wide, and many of the bigger people go very fast indeed on 44-50cm wide boards.
Back then most speed boards were 8'8" to 9+ foot long! (265-280cm) and very pointy. Most are now 230 to 245 and much more rounded.
Not related to shape, but all the old boards had US fin boxes. Now they all have Tuttle Boxes, and almost all the old boards were Polyeurethane foam/Polyester resin. Now almost all are Polystyrene foam/PVC sandwich/Epoxy.
And.... they go faster!
I bought myself this for Xmas, just unboxed it last week.. gunna be a sweet light wind waveboard.
Awesome, can't wait to hear feedback. Right now I'm trying to decide between the Pyro 105 and the Cube 106 for cross onshore 6.0 sailing in crappy waves. Maybe I'll throw the Kode 105 L into consideration too.
