Ooo, ooo, I've got to get in before Ayreforce!
The RPAYC dinghy winter series is happening and open to windsurfers. Let's beat those pesky Lasers for biggest fleet.
Don't worry about the members only entry thing, that's now been changed.
Every second Sunday starting with 14 June.
C'mon down. We'll take Original Wally's, Windsurfer OD's, Windsurfer LT's, Bic Techno's, maybe Raceboards and even more maybe foilers. Bring what you've got!

Winter series starting this weekend! Should be some excellent racing. There will be 2 sessions, session 1 at 0930 and session 2 at 1230. The club have 6 boards that anyone can use just get in touch! Entries officially closed today however if you give them a call on 99995698 or email at sailing@rpayc.com.au they can get you signed up!
If possible can you confirm you are coming with the club before attending!
Cheers
Dan
Yes, for a non-RPA member it's $30 per day or $150 for the series.
8 windsurfers already entered for the series and there's a few names missing from the list that are sailing so it will be a good fleet!
We are currently tied for biggest fleet with the laser radials so enter now to help us keep our spot.
Geoff
Edit: I missed the Opti's at 10, so we definitely need more entries!
If I can obtain the use of an LT within the entry fee, then I'd of course race in the LT fleet, rather than use the RB and perhaps race in the Open fleet against the 29'rs ??
No news yet on our session times but entries are now up around the 15 mark.
I'll post the session times as soon as I hear...
Hi all, I've just got off the phone to the RPAYC and they are still unsure what the division splits will be due to a large number of late entries. More news when it breaks.
Question to Regal1,
What were you doing at the start of Race1?
Hopefully you were not waiting for me to start? I only made it through the line about 30 seconds before the Laser start.
Missed the first start completely. Didn't see flag #4 until too late. Still, it was champagne RB sailing.
If anyone is planning their future weekends around the LT racing at RPAYC, I'm hearing that all starts from now on will be the 9am session, with two courses to cover the two sessions. I'll post again when I hear confirmation.
First start for this coming Sunday is 9am anyway.
Hi all, I haven't been posting much lately, not because nothing's happening but because Pittwater Longboarding is going OFF, big time!
For me it's been heaps of Windsurfer LT racing and training, mainly out of RPAYC and Palm Beach SC.
It's also good to see over a dozen regulars up and down the length of Pittwater getting out regularly to race, train, cruise and socialize!
If there's anyone reading this and wants to get involved, just drop me or AyreForce a message or post on here and we'll see what we can tee up.
Jethrow
P.S. Today's racing!
A great weekend for about a dozen of the Pittwater longboarders at the NSW LT State championships, including a win in the lightweights for one of our own...
AyreForce, the new NSW state champion!
Opps, I've been a bit remiss about mentioning that the RPAYC is once again hosting the Selden Winter Series, mainly for Windsurfer LT's but I'm sure there will be some foilers, maybe Techno's and a Raceboard or too.
First day is this coming Sunday...
Hi all, daylight savings is here and that brings news of longboard sailing on Pittwater.
There is an informal group intending on conducting Windsurfer LT racing approximately every second Friday, give or take.
Most will sail from RPAYC, however there'll also be some from Salt Pan, Bayview and the Island as well. Maybe even some of the Narrabean Lake crowd or Palm Beach SC. Racing will generally be conducted in what we call the little pond, the area between RMYC, BYRA and Southern Scotland Island.
You don't need to be a member of RPAYC to join in. Drop a line here and someone will point you in the right direction...
Bit of a quiet year for Pittwater Longboarders this past year and a bit, what with lockdowns and restricted access (and some of us dabbling with foiling ) but hopefully 2022 will be a great year for all sorts of windsurfing on Pitttwater!
Just to show it's still cool to longboard, I took the LT out for one last 2021 session in a fickle Easterly.
Happy New Year all and see you out there!
Has been 11 months since my last post!
But in fact I have done plenty of Pittwater Longboarding - Windsurfer LT, International Raceboard, (and yachting), and have the tracks recorded etc etc, but been toooooo distracted (plus pandemic long tail brain fog).
But tomorrow, rain (likely), hail or shine!

Hope you will race with me, with profits towards assisting the BYRA junior fleet, and that you will enjoy the adventure!
I'll shout beers for the last 5 sailboarders to finish.
