All the best for the recovery!!!!
I thought you were mad rigging a 7m yesterday Brad but it sounds like you were on the money. What a difference a day makes. Adam, myself, The Pope and Darren gathered back at Sandstone Point again this afternoon and it was back to 10-12 knot conditions. Darren and I were on longboards with smaller sails, Adam was on the GO and The Pope on his SLW both with big sails and big fins. Darren showed some seriously good longboard skills after not sailing for a long time and John had the right combo with the SLW and was flying in the light conditions. If the onshore winds continue through the night I might give Phillip Street a crack tomorrow morning early and then that's it for a couple of days while I eat and drink too much.
Good to see more new face's yesterday. Was worried that I might have gone a bit too hard at it, but only feeling sore in the right place's.
That drive home with the smile, and that super feeling. Need another fix already. Next couple of day's will tell, but I think next time will be back on a short board.
Nice to meet you Darren, looks like a few quiet days ahead to get the festivities over and done with and then a steadily increasing breeze.
The weather map is looking like I was hoping for. The 28th & 29th could be really good day's.
Finger's crossed.
Just a suggestion.
Maybe you guys who no longer contribute to society in a meaningful manner, and seem to spend all your time staring at Willy Weather and probably other kinds of Willy's could create you own private forum to discuss your mid week adventures.
That would mean those of us who are busy paying taxes to support your lifestyle choices, don't have to listen to how wonderful your day on the water has been.
This particular area could then be left for useful information, like how to modify the muffler on my mower so I can start it a 5am on Saturday morning without the all the abuse from neighbours who obviously have too much time in their weekends. How to make the most of another 5 knot day. Which kind of light beer to bring to "sailing" so that you won't be over the limit after 12 in 12 hours of sitting on the beach.
Please note that this response may have been in part influenced by nearly being blown off my feet walking to from my car to work and then seeing the forecast for Saturday when I logged on.
As such, I do reserve the right to withdraw the above comments if the forecast and my current demeanor improves.
That's bloody funny. Until now, I have deliberately not looked at seabreeze at all, whilst not able to sail.
Thought I'd have a look at how much fun you guy's have been having. Wish I'd have read this while I was off.
Too easy Wade, if there's more south or East in the wind, Sandstone will be better. I'll come for a sail too.
Excellent choice, breeze is only 10kn here at the most and up and down. I'm going to cruise through the morning and take down the chrissy lights and maybe have a look at South Esplanade on the low tide on the longboard over the weed banks again. We'll struggle to get enough water at Sandstone later on.
Guys, I spent 4 days in hospital and came home last night. I thought it would be perhaps a day, but the pain management was the big issue. They want you to keep the pain under control enough so you can breathe deeply and avoid getting pneumonia. I'm still on the strong stuff for another week or 2.
Nice work Darren, I went down the beach to check the wind earlier and ended up going for a kayak paddle with the wife.
Got up to 12 / 13 knot's. Stayed on the Wally to re-train some muscles. Wow, Christmas has taken it's toll. Think I've eaten and drank enough for another whole year. Still got New Year's to go.
Another good day at Turner's camp. The wind was a bit up and down hoping to back up tomorrow if there's wind.
And the scenery was alright too
Giddy up.
It made getting into the harness a bit harder than normal.
Bahhaha!!!
Bloody horrible it was.
Mmmmm. Did someone have to Harness Wade. Hope nobody got a broken mast whist wearing one at turnon camp.
