Ok kids, looks like we'll check out Phillip Street at Beachmere around 1030-1100 and if it's no good we can head over to Turners to chop up Bribie jellyfish.

I am going to try Turners now if any locals see me on a sandbank looking like a newby.

Hey PWB, you should have come down to Phillip Street. Great fun freeride sailing today in the open water, the most windsurfers at Phillip Street in ages. Adam, Mal, Tony, Brent, Brad and myself it was great to have everyone catch up for a sail. 10-12 knots at 1030 so kicked off with 8 to 8.5m sails and dropped to 7m when the wind got up into the 15-20 knots, plenty of bumps and jumps and a few patches of jellyfish to annoy anyone who fell off in them. We packed up when we started to run out of water and the wind really came in hard, it's blowing like crazy here right now.

Turners was pretty cool from about 1230, ignoring the crab bite through wettue boot at the start, plenty of weed, and a gazillion jellyfish.
6.6 on jp xcite pro 135 was a bit bouncy in the choppy stuff a few times, but generally a nice sail in clean green water. As the tide dropped I saw why the upstream sandspit was useful to avoid the muddy bits. Sailing across to the banks near Bribie was nice till the offshore puffs went haywire.
Imdropped in at Philip St on the way home but the water and the boards had gone.
I,ll be back.
Peter

Good stuff Peter, keep an eye on here and you'll see where we're sailing, you're welcome to join us for a sail anytime. Turners is great because it can be sailed on all tides but the water is definitely calmer at the bottom of the tide when the sand bank is out. There's a crazy easterly blowing here at the moment, we just slipped up to the RSL for a steak and went down the waterfront for a look and it's well over 30 knots.

I plan to head out a bit later. So hot right now I don't have the energy to pack up my gear. Might head out after lunch.

Late Sunday arvo turners. after work.

Who took all the wind????
Packed only the bic and shark early this morning before work
Got here late 5pm. Looked enough to rig a 7m. By the time I got on the water not a white cap in sight.

Still pleasant to have a little stooge around in the bic to remind me of all the love I have for it

Looking at forecast think I may need to take sport leave this week??

Cheers Jeff

There was about 5 or 6 people sailing at Turner's camp yesterday from about 11 till 4 the wind was very up and down. I also setup a 7 metre and was overpowered sometimes and no wind sometimes it was hard work. Hoping to have a sail somewhere tomorrow arvo either Pacific Harbour or Turner's camp.

Damn. Knew I should have bought it when I had a chance.
Was good. Now I feel like one of the privileged few who can go for a sail when ever they want.
Back to reality tomorrow though.
Thanks for the company Gents.

Yep a great afternoon. Felt I had more success in the chop than I'm used too.

A few long mostly in control runs.

Mates to share the thrill with

3rd after work sail in a row - life is great

Cheers Jeff

Stuff to do in morning
Thought about sailing flat water off bongaree during low tide or late afternoon sandstone?

John and me are talking about sailling sandstone early morning and then the afternoon. Pope John is selling the incoming tide at South Esplanade. South Esplanade is a good option mid morning.

If it is blowing first thing I'll sail Sandstone on the high tide as we'll really only have until 8am. I'll post on here if Adam and I are sailing for anyone that wants to crawl out of bed early and join us.

It's really windy, but the bloody neighbours made me drink beer till midnight out on the driveway so I'm going back to bed. Sailing later on I think.

A grey and breezy morning at Sandstone. The combo of a bad sail choice and lack of water has got me on the bench as a spectator now ....... poo!

I am sure you hated drinking those beer last night. Lol
Wind has really picked up down here to, but like you say, no water. Doesn't help I am busy pretty much all day.

Great day at Sandstone had a morning session started about 6:30 till 9 with Brad, John Pope, John ,Brent and myself. I went out on a 7 metre in Nice consistent wind. When out in the afternoon about 3 o'clock to 6 Pope John, John and Brent backed up as well as Jeff turned up for a afternoon session wind was a little more inconsistent. I went out on a 8.5. A good day and great company hope there's enough wind tomorrow.

The seabreezers are having a great time as usual, I was sailing with my mates (alone) at Vicci point for a late sail, good 6.5 wind at first but it dropped off after half an hour so I rigged my newish 2016 nine metre ncx Severe. Who needs whitecaps? The 9 planes real early and is nice in the gusts. Happy days

Sorry Pete

I sailed Thompsons yesterday morning from about 7 to 9am with my Hot Sails 6m. I thought you would be there!
Back again this morning with my 8m for a short chug.

Ordinary tides for SE conditions today and only around 10 knots up our end of the bay so it was time to do the 'turf' part of a Beachmere 'surf n turf' weekend, sailing on saturday and MX on sunday, time to sit on the couch for a bit now I think, feeling bit sore.
