Another windy weekday at Sandstone. Early high tide so only enough water to sail my 50cm fin till about 11am as I couldn't be shagged sailing out wide and walking back in over the flats. Sailed with Parso and John till Parso busted the nose of his board and John switched to his delta fin when the tide got too low. Mark, Dag and Cocky showed up later, Dag and Mark headed over to South Esplanade to launch and Cocky hit the shallows with The Pope and then headed upwind to sail with the guys from South Esplanade and Adam joined them later. Good fun session spread out across the day with people coming and going, weekday windsurfing is back!
Wasn't just Parso who buggered a board. There's something very solid on the far end (Scarborough end) of the bank off Bongaree.
Pushed the back end of the fin box through the deck of the board. And that was using a weed fin.
Two boards off the water now, and waiting for Pete to get back from Tassie to fix them.
Or a dugong? Maybe you were in too much of a hurry? if you just took it easy and slowed down a bit.....well, there's always the Wally !!!
Nah mate, not a turtle. Whatever it was it was solid. Might pay everyone to have a look at my track's.
It was the start of my last run back. The west end of the bank.
Haha Pete! Not gunna slow down! Might use the Wally to see if I can try and locate it though.
Anybody know how to get Latitude and Longitude marks from our track's?
Dag, Seems like that murky water was out to get us.
My 50cm supersport is now angled like a weedy. Crunched rear of box up thru deck. Bah!!! F1 down. Ahhh well picking up 380 raceboard tonight!!
Ouch - and I thought I was running out of boards
looks like a few few of us have a bit of board rehab time
at least I know what I hit and it took me a couple of goes
Hi Jeff, Luckily ive got a backup F1 to jump on! But its not as good as the one ive just trashed. Just stepped into this century n grabbed a bargain Starboard 380 RB. Yep, another board! Think im almost there....
Yes.
Plenty of wind and neap tides, there's even enough water to sail low tide at Sandstone if you've got a small enough fin. Any time after lunch should be ok for the rest of us who can't sail on tiny fins.
Hey Dags that's no good
but suck it up, stop whinging or take up knitting, that was the comment from my loving wife last year when I injured my shoulder, hows yours treating u.
She say's I can finally get some other stuff done around hear. Doesn't care about me.
Usually It's the old "That's nothing, try child birth".
It was a dud this morning, stunning conditions but just not enough wind to get the big GO going. I waited for about 3/4 of an hour and came home sulking. Hopefully it'll be a different story in the morning.
Hi guys, had a nice warm up session this arvo at GB. 15-18kts 7.5m Lion on RB. Awesome. 4pm til dark.
FAN ON BOYS !!!! LOCK n LOAD! Hope you all get time to rip it up!! Tick tock tick tock Only 6hrs work stopping me....
Jeff ,thats trick. Exactly what ive been thinking of doing to my ol Speed SR250L. Simply remove Cb. Drop in the foil n away i go. Hmmm..... if only it was that easy.
So great minds think alike Dag ................... yourself and Jeff I mean ................. and Olskool, he's the sort of bloke that would make a foil for his raceboard
Up and down wind at Sandstone this morning with John and Mark. I rigged 6.5 and 7.5, John rigged 5.5 and 7.5 and we both used both sails. John gave up in disgust and was heading over to Bongaree when I last saw him. I hacked it out with the 7.5 and the fat board and Mark was burning around on his Funster with a 5.5 till the rocks came out of the water and I started to hit the bottom a bit. Wind is in and consistent now though.

I usually tell them childbirth is nothing wait till you get a man cold!!
Well I've gone and done it again Pete, it was blowing and squally at home so I figured there's no way I'll need that 9m sail and pulled it and the 490 mast out of the car and put them up on the rack in the shed. Rigged a 7.5 on the GO (in a blowy squall) and then the sun came out and the wind dropped a little and I glided and sometimes planed wishing I had a 9 ..................... what do you take?????????
John was going the whole time on much the same setup as me but he weighs 20kg less so was laughing. Mark was cruising around on his Funster and progressing real well.
It's a cruel world Pete. Luckily, there will be wind and good tides for Sandstone from Tuesday onwards giving Bradley a couple of days to settle back into his working week before we send him a photo of us sailing
