Anybody used the HA1450 as a lightwind foil for winging? Do the S270 or S210 fit the HA frontwings or bezter the S215 or S208?
Best regards

I was lucky enough to try all 4 on the 1250HA New in the same session. 208HA is my favorite, fast, turns on a dime. Obviously the other foils with thicker camber and foil shapes are slower. Of the 3, the 215S and 210 are very close in most aspects. Foils comes up quicker, lower stall speeds and both have the resistance to pump sloppy, where as the 208 likes it's tender. But both the 210 and 215 lose a little speed (1-2 knots on average). Obviously, the 270 is super stable, will lift the soonest and only loses a little speed to the 210 and 215. It's also surprisingly turny. For me, it's the 208 most of the time, however if I'm doing downwinders or pumping a lot and want to get out or it's stupid light, the 215 or 270. Here's the thing, if I could only have one foil, I agree w a lot of people on Utube, the 210. Hope that helps...

Thank you, yes that was very interesting. Meanwhile I got my S210 whereas the S208 is actually not avaiable here in Germany. I tryed the S210 today for the first time. For me it was more sensitive than the S270 and a bit faster, but only by sensation, I do not measure. I used it with my MA1350 and for me this set was quite fast. Still could not
decide if the HA1250 or the HA1450 could be a good substitude for the MA1350?

You have to give us a bit more information on your profile so that we can give you advice

Level, weight, board size, wing size, wind strength
What's missing from your MA1350 that makes you want to replace it?What are you looking to use it for?

What other front wings do you have?

You are right...
Intermediate, I manage 90% jibes, 70 % tacks, some 360s, 54y, 190cm, 93kg, 95l Anton board.
I want to do freeride, better 360s, would like to do upwind 360s. Normal jumps, no rotations. Maybe try downwinders.
I would like to have the same or better lowwind performance, more glide, more speed.
I have the MA1050 and S210/S270 stab.

Thank You

The 1250HA has more low end, more speed and much more glide than the MA 1350.........but it is not as "turny".
MA 1350 is funny to ride but has not the efficiancy of the 1250HA, which still turns well but is not as playful as the MA1350

Loving the MA1050 and finding it super fast with the 210 stab - have reached 25.5 knots on it (2second speed) and frequently 22-24 knots.
Such a versatile wing. Yet to have second go on SF1080 - obviously not as fast as this but very loose and glidey.

Tintifax the HA750 sounds great. Did u get to compare that to the HA850? I'm just deciding which smaller HA to get.

So this sounds interesting, l guess the HA1450 then has even more lowend, glide and less playfull.
I think I will try the HA1250 then...

Just curious if anyone has seen the 2023 1250HA and 1450HA next to each other? Does the 1450 have a slightly thicker foil profile/camber than the 1250HA? No way to tell from the pic's online.

Hi Acker,
I didn't ride the 850HA. I can just tell that with 90 kg and my current skills i love the 750HA in powered conditions.
As you push the 1050MA to a decent speed i assume you would enjoy it too or go even smaller (especially if you are lighter than me)

I had 2 years SAB foil, W1100, W1250, W999, W799, the last 2 I used most.
So I repalced W999 with MA1350 and W799 with MA1050.
The North MA seem to be faster and turn quicker, the SAB rised a bit earlier and are easier to jump. It took me some tries to jump the MAs, finally I managed it, but I have to be more acurate.

New north Sonar is amazing . MA1350

I am just beginner, making my first flying jibes. Started last year only few sessions on Duotone spirit surf 1500 foil. www.duotonesports.com/kiteboarding/foils/spirit-surf/
It was very easy for me to learn how to fly on this foil. But I was not super satisfied. Mainly in higher speed foil wants to lift to much, and IMHO also in jibes not so easy. This year I change foil to NORTH MA1350 with CF85 mast. What a difference!! I can go as fast as I want without unnecessary lift. And learning jibes is much more easier, IMHO because of speed, easy carving, and still low stall speed. I am looking forward to try MA 1200 in stronger winds. (I was worried to go straight to MA1200 )

My board is KT 105l weight 70kg. North Seek 78l is on the way

What size combination would make sense? 93kg, intermediate/advanced rider
lowwind arround 8-20knt, and highwind arround 15-35 knt.
HA1250 / HA950
Ha1250 / HA1050
or better
HA1450 / HA1050?

If you have wave or swell would narrow it down to the SF930 and S215 - its an unreal all-rounder and low end is really low

What type of conditions do you ride in?Flat, lakes, open ocean, swell?Would you rather ride a big wing and small foil or the other way around? Are you looking for glide or for snappy turns?Even without knowing all of those, I might even make you consider SF1230 for light wind and HA950 for higher winds if you really want a HA

Is there a big difference between aluminium mast and carbon mast ? I ask because on some brand the alu mast is sometime better.
on the website they said it's lighter but other than that , is it's gliding better for exemple, is it stiffer or not ?

I usually ride on lakes, maybe mediterranen see. So no big swells... I want to learn gliding maneuvers, all kind of tacks, jibes, back wind, 360s down- and upwind....
Yes I also looked at the SF1230, can you compare it to the MA1350? Is it faster? more glide?

Thanks heaps. I'm 85kg so might even go the HA650. Gunnar Biniasch (also 85kg) uses it and looks great.
I regularly used the Cabrinha H650 which was awesome and not that hard to get going. Still have it up for sale.

Does anybody know when the SF780 is coming out?
The SF930 is great but too big when the waves are a bit bigger and faster and/or the wind is more than 20 knots.
I want to switch to Sonar SF but I need to know that smaller ones will come out in the foreseeable future...

@lenzilot
Low end of SF930 is definitely way lower than MA1050. I can dockstart the SF930 and there's no way I could have done that with the MA1050.
So without having tested a MA1350, I would extrapolate that the low end of the SF1230 is definitely better than that of the MA1350.
I wouldn't be surprised if the SF930 takes off at similar speeds to the MA1350.

I had my first go winging on the SF1230 yesterday - I initially got it just for dockstarting, but there was a touch of wind yesterday so decided to give it a go.
10-12 knts? 43 L for 78 kg - 5.5 m. As soon as I got the board from under the water to over the water I could pump the board on foil.So stall speed is very very low. Definitely less drag, turns better, more alive/reactive than the HA1250/1450 (v1).
I usually don't wing anything bigger than 850-900 and this was actually fun to ride.

AFAIK there won't be a SF780, but SF830 and SF680 coming out at the end of summer/early fall,
