Statement on Climate Change from 18 Scientific Associations
"Observations throughout the world make it clear that climate change is occurring, and rigorous scientific research demonstrates that the greenhouse gases emitted by human activities are the primary driver." (2009)2

OK Peter, no pic from a century ago showing an 8" difference in sea level, but this is far better 100m in a century and well documented, there's no refuting this one. There's not much other explanation than the World getting warmer.
www.newscientist.com/article/mg24332483-600-special-report-how-climate-change-is-melting-frances-largest-glacier/

About a century ago, women with boaters and parasols sat near the Montenvers train station above the glacier, which then was almost level with a tongue of jagged ice snaking into the distance. Today, visitors are greeted by a slightly sad and largely grey glacier that is about 100 metres lower. From the station, a short trip by cable car takes me to the height where, in 1988, a visitor could descend down three steps to reach the glacier. There are 580 steps down to the glacier now. Of these, 80 were added this year - a stark illustration of the accelerating effects of global warming. The fate of the world's glaciers will be laid bare by the UN climate science panel on 25 September, just days after research is expected to confirm that the extent of Arctic sea ice this summer reached the second lowest level ever recorded. There are some 170,000 glaciers worldwide covering an area of about 730,000 square kilometres. Monitoring of 500 glaciers globally shows they are retreating across the board and, since 1960, the rate at which they are losing ice has increased. A leaked draft of a report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) on our planet's oceans and ice warns that, this century, melting glaciers will "first give too much water and then too little". "France's two largest glaciers have both lost 800m of their lengths over the past 30 years"

So 8 inches from 1850-1950
1950-present rising at same rate.
Carbon emissions at 1950 were less than 2000 million tons .Today stand at over 10000 million tons .

The CO2 Greenhouse effect is LOGARITHMIC. ie. even doubling the CO2 will result in LESS than 0.5% extra forcing. So, there is NO emergency; NO panic. Cloud cover decrease(200 times stronger than CO2) and Synodic Resonance and orbit variation are the major factors in our SLIGHT GW.
Just changing the paint on temp recording stations from whitewash (19th century) to modern paints makes for a 0.7F difference, HALF that claimed by alarmist fanatics.
Our Govs ALWAYS tell us one panic after the previous........nuke war; Japs invading; Vietnamese invading; God getting angry, on and on.
We are SO used to disasters/wars, that now we INVENT another crisis.
We eat better; live better; travel widely; watch interesting stuff and listen to flawless digital music; many diseases decreasing with modern treatment.
Make these loonies live without power/fridges/cars/good food for a year, and they will change their tune.

Considering that you don't know the difference between 100km and about 8km, or the difference between $15 mill and $2.5 mill, why on earth would we believe anything you say?

Were those errors in your earlier posts simple mistakes - in which case they are proof that you are ignorant, stupid or careless - or where they lies? No matter which, it proves that you have no credibility.

Ten years ago today, there was a terrible dust storm in Sydney. Sydney siders woke to red dust everywhere and covering everything. Imagine what would have been written and shown if there had been a similar dust storm last Friday when they had the march? The storm would have been shown as proof the world was going to climate hell. Pictures and videos of brave children marching through the clouds of red dust would have been shown around the world.

All and sundry would have said "Look at that, its proof the planet is dying".

It truly would have been an iconic moment. What a pity they missed it by ten years. Maybe if they have another protest in 2029 the weather might be a bit worse than the pleasant weather we had last Friday. Its ironic to protest of a climate emergency on a day with very pleasant temperature.

I was driving home in the early hours yesterday well today and just happened to put 990 AM on.

It was the BBC News. There were four or five reports on then immediately after they further discussed a few.

Climate change and a latest report from the U.N headed the news and then a feature report on it immediately after the news headlines Some BS about Polar Ice caps melting some where and there being a ceremony to commemorate its loss. Who the fark makes this up?

Like ice that melts never returns.

Every opportunity they get - they ram it home.

For those that are not sceptical of the mainstream media - fark, you must think we are going to be underwater soon.

weather

Yeah it's the weather.

Imagine if kids & the ALP stalwarts marching down the streets through clouds of dust like those that hit Sydney ten years ago.

Would it have been put down as the weather?

Right now we are told droughts are caused by climate change. These claims are not scientific. They are emotive and political. The scientific explanation for droughts are they are caused by weather patterns, not climate change.

Obviously if you take a pic at high tide or especially in a storm the water level is going to be higher.

Why don't you ask around the old folks who have lived at Applecross or some other suburb on the river if they have noticed the river rise in their lifetime.

I think you are forgetting that the Swan river is nothing like it used to be before whitefella created Fremantle harbour...

Prior to C.Y. O'Connor using vast quantities of Alfred Nobels finest products to break up the rock, followed by a massive dredging operation to clear the river's mouth, the Swan was pretty much like the Moore river - most of the time it was blocked until the built up river water breached the barrier, then the river would drain out until the levels equalised, until it was blocked again by sand clogging up the gaps between the rocks.

The present level of the river is dictated by tides slowing the outflow - it is nothing like how it used to be back when the early explorers dragged their whaleboats through the river mouth, then having to row through the masses of birdlife that practically covered the surface of the water.

Whenever we have an exceptionally high tide coinciding with run-off from decent rain [whatever that is] we have minor flooding.

I have driven through hub deep water on riverside drive plenty of times / even hub deep on the freeway at South Perth.
You also forget that much of our riverbanks are nothing like they used to be "before whitefella" - much reclaiming of swamps, riverbanks were walled up, stormwater from all around the Perth metro being funnelled into the river, water being pumped, drained and transferred between lakes and out to the sea at various beach outflows.
Lake Monger and Herdsmans lake were both much larger, and used to be practically joined - and much of Osborne Park was soggy until we filled it in with rubbish!

Comparing our river today, [and Perth's remaining marine environment] with how it used to be before we stuffed it up just isn't an honest way of proving global warming or climate change - all it proves is we butchered the area we live in.

Fair enough but they are also claiming (ludicrously) that in the last 23 years it has risen just under 3 inches!

Now I've sailed the Swan River for around 30 years and a 3 inch rise in the river would result in a decent amount more of the beaches covered in water.

This of course is something people do not realise. They count on your blind acceptance.

The latest scam to enter the debate about so-called "global warming" involves spending billions of dollars to spray the atmosphere with tiny particulate matter for the alleged purpose of reflecting sunlight back into space, and thus cooling the planet. But research into this controversial practice of "chemtrailing," which has actually already been going on for quite some time now, is largely funded directly by Mr. Vaccine himself, the infamous Bill Gates. The U.K.'s Guardian paper reports that Gates, who is a huge advocate of global intervention programs that forcibly affect large people groups whether they like it or not, has been spending untold millions of dollars from his own personal fortune to fund research into geo-engineering programs. These funds are being used to study things like how much it will cost every year to blast the skies with tiny particles of sulfur dioxide, a toxic industrial byproduct linked to serious respiratory illnesses like asthma (www.epa.gov/sites/production/files/signpost/index.html).
