That engine is worth about 4 grand. Those cockpit cushions would not have been cheap either!
I thought this Bounty was a good buy for some one looking for a big boat.

Heh - now relisted and price has changed from $999 to $9,999. I guess they had a few phone calls.
Interesting, in an odd sort of way: yachthub.com/list/boats-for-sale/used/sail-catamarans/proa-pacific-proa-71-sustainable-eco-friendly-renewable-energy-sailing/243009

Now that's going to be a hard boat to sell!
I watched the video and was staggered with the complexity of the rig. Tacking and moving that mast back and forth with a crew of two in calm water and 5 knots of wind was exhausting. I wonder how it would go in your average summer 25 knot NEaster entering Greenwell Point, crossing the bar after a quick gybe then another gybe 200 metres in and a fresh run dead downwind in a confined space. I reckon that motor would get a lot of use making the environmental thing a bit of a joke. I think I would rather stick with the simplicity of a Bermuda rig.
Yep, and if they wanted to be really environmentally friendly it would probably have been better to just buy a second-hand boat in the first place. I wonder if the mast can be left in the centre of the track, and if it's being moved by an electric winch?
Nice interior but the pick of the UFO's for me is this one. Just toss the dodger.

The mast was originally moved using an electric winch if I remember rightly, but the way I read the ad it is now fixes. Boat was designed for trading, so not intended to be frequently manoeuvred. The rig now looks very similar to Rus Brown's proa Jzerro (realy interesting bloke/boat/voyages if you want to look into it..)
tacking (shunting)
Gotta love a GibSea, this one is nice
Strange how it hasn't had the usual bids from those people that have no intention of paying!

This seems really, really cheap to me :) is there something I'm missing?

It's only the starting bid!! He'd be hoping a few get into a bidding war.
There would probably be a reserve as well!!

As far as i know you can't set a reserve on Aussie ebay auctions. I was thinking it would have got a bid straight away but maybe everyone is slack on a long weekend.

If Aussie eBay doesn't set reserve it could easily be done with a proxy bidder
You can set a starting price as well as a reserve price. Once there is a bid the amount will also 'reserve not met' until it has...

This is a no reserve auction so once someone bids then they own it. If the bids stay low then it will magically suddenly become unavailable on the second to last day! The fact that there is no phone number and the yacht is not advertised elsewhere is just a little weird.
Lovely interior.

Not sure what is happening with this one. The winning bidder from eBay failed to materialize. Has heaps of quality gear.

Of course this is a reserve auction, he has set the starting price at $19,990 so that is the reserve and if there is only one bidder at the end of the auction he is the winner, otherwise let the bidding war begin.
In a no reserve auction the price starts at very close to zero, either 1 cent or 1 dollar and at auction the highest bidder wins regardless of what the bid was.

Must have showed up because the auction has now been pulled:
" This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available"

Haha - yep agreed. It will suddenly be cancelled for some unknown reason. If you do this too often on fleabay your account gets suspended but given this seller has only 7 feedback and obviously doesn't sell very much through the bay he doesn't really care about a strike or two.
No movement on the GibSea yet, as Ramona says, "this will be interesting"
