there is no doubt a halogram attached to a piece of plastic can improve your balance and coordination!!!!!!

Normally i wouldnt believe something like them but a guy at my work had one..

He did this push/balance test thing on me, he pulled/pushed me of balance really easy without one on then i put it on and there was no way he could push or pull me over..

I still didnt believe him so i did the test myself on my mate and something works thats for sure.. Not sure how or what it does.. Maybe its just in your head im really not sure..

In saying that i still wouldnt buy or wear one..

IMO the first time you do the test your body/mind is learning which muscles to engage. the second time you do it its in your muscle memory to a degree

do the test in reverse, ie hold the band first times and then not second

I have bought and wear one and it is amazing. I have tested it on many people with 100% noticing an improvement in balance. I was a sceptic, most I have shown are a sceptic until the try it. It won't make you superman, but it will make your balance the best it can be more often. Even if it is just a plasibo, it's worth it cause it really works.

Try it for your self

I'm still wearing mine and I gave one to my mum and she still wears hers. Got no idea how it could possibly work but I think it does - so that's all that matters.

Oh come on! It uses 'frequencies'! And 'holograms'! Together! (It's what bodies crave!)

It also uses 'body energy fields', and 'natural, beneficial frequencies'. What else would you use to improve energy flow through your body.

I think I saw an ad for lemon detox diets tonight, and I think I would put it into the same category, although the holograms would affect your health less.

The best thing about this idea is that its hard to disprove, so you will at least sell a few. As for helping your balance... yeah right.

I have one. I play soccer on the weekend, and I hate the whole stretching down thing after the game. Last season when I didn't have a power balance wristband, I used to get lots of little niggles from bits of torn muscle from not warming down properly. This season I haven't had any problems at all so far while wearing the wristband. Also, I don't know if it's just my surfing improving, as you would naturally expect it to be with practice, but I'm making more steep drops than I used to be able to and I seem to be able to put more power into my turns than before without losing balance. I reckon they work, but those who do not have them might take it as placebo BS. If you've got a spare ~$50 lying around, it wouldn't hurt to get one.

BTW, the issue has been brought up as to whether they should be allowed in the professional sports. Why would this issue have been brought up as a potential problem (unfair advantage) if they were proven BS?
As far as I know, some guys in the NBA use them, Andy Irons and Brendon Fevola, as well as some others. If those professional athletes maintain that power balance is helping them, surely they may have a point?!

Thats why when they do the test they test you without it, then with it, and then again without it. Do your muscles forget cos you seem to loose balance the third time again when you don't have it.

just because a "profession" athlete believes in something doesnt make it science......in fact some of the biggest knobs are "professionals"

if it works for you thats all that counts, but I wouldnt believe in the "science" behind it. There are more misstruths making money out there than good science.

1 in 100, not that special really, how many billion people on the planet?

just remember the mind is the most powerful tool humans have, for what ever reason it works for you or others, does it matter.

I choose to disbelieve the science behind it......

To all the sceptics, rather than trying to look tough on the forum being sarcastic. Go try it. I don't care whether it works for you or not. I like it and wear it, everyone i've shown it to has noticed a difference, some of the worlds best sportman/women wear it religiously (some even wear two like shakeal oniell). But don't judge it til you've tried it.

Go through youtube, see the testimonials. I'd like to hear you tell Da Hui their full of Shiz!

Anyhoo, your loss is you don't!

I have a mate involved in the Surfing Assoc or Aust, and he said they are looking at this closely, as they are scared it is a performance advantage, and looking at banning them for competitions. Now I think this is fear of the unknown, and there is no real magic here, just giving your body the ability to stay in tune and respond at it's best.

so because I tell MY OPINION (nothing more) on a public forum, im playing tough guy........

like I said, if it works for anyone thats all that matters, It didnt for me and I dont believe the science behind it.

from a factual/science point of view, just because some people(remember pro sports people are still just people) believe in it doesnt make it so, yes it works for them in their mind and if that helps thats fine.

Just because a sporting body bans something doesnt make it scientificly sound either.......

youtube testimonials......hahahahahahahahaha your kidding right, I could click on you tube and find people telling the earth was flat with the photos and math to back it up. Youll have to find something more substantial to back the science up for me

oh and if the Da Hui asked me what I thought about it, Id simply say the same thing: IF IT WORKS FOR YOU GREAT, BUT I DONT BELIEVE IN IT

shame you cant get that point

oh and yes I HAVE TRIED IT

have a nice day

Better of buying a bottle of turkey and a six pack and let that adjust your balance

Done the push test and it was a load of crap. If someone did it and then asked you to hold a magic balancing stubbie - I bet you'd get the same results.

Oh well Its your fifty bucks!

Hey, I am definitely a sceptic. There's no need to look tough, I just think its a dodgy claim. There appears to be no science behind this, just a dodgy claim and a strange way to 'prove' the effect.

I looked at the youtube video and from about 1 minute on it looks like the first time the guy 'testing' is pulling to the side, and the second time he is obviously trying to pull straight down. Take a look yourself and compare. It's not that hard to see.

That's hardly a fair test though with the guy testing obviously influencing the results. I am sure a test without the test subject and the guy "testing" him knowing whether the snake oil was present, would give different results.

Did the test at the bells contest. Pretty simple what they do. when pulling down they firstly also pull you away from your centre of gravity then when you have it they pull towards your centre of gravity. Called the guy on it and he got pretty flustered.

I just wrote a reasoned, balanced dissertation on why it's a hoax and expressed my puzzlement as to why the sellers do not take the reasonable, simple steps to dispell the concerns.

Also, why should I pay $60 to try it out when I have offered to take one for free then pay double if it works.

I just looked on ebay and you can buy them for 99 cents. That's more like it.

While we're at it, why are they $30 in the US but $60 here (and you can't order frmo the US to here)?

I thought this was a forum about SUP. Saying people are sad for living a life with a personal set of beliefs is little off topic from whether or not a rubber bracelet with a hologram makes you surf better or not...

If it works in anyway, weather its in your head or some magic power and you think you get some benift from it then it will be the best $60 you will spend. i'm walking better since i have put one on maybe its in my head, maybe my leg is just healing more. My step dad who has always snored very badly wore one and stop snoring all together, once again maybe its in his head maybe not. Wear it or not, no one is forcing anyone to put it on!!

I would have thought he expressing his opinion in regards to the bit of rubber being similar to organized religion as someone else did, and its not off topic at all I wouldnt have thought.

I tied a Surfaid blue legrope string round my wrist a few months ago. All the money ($5) from these go towards getting malaria injections and medical help to kiddies in the indo archepeligoes, mentawia's etc.

Since i've been wearing it, I look at it and play with it and it makes me feel good, a kind of good karma feeling.

My wife and elsdest son have powerbands and say the feel better as well.

The mind is a powerful tool, I did the tests with and without the powerband and after the 1st time without the band was the only time I was pushed off ballance. the other test the person had me do was a shoulder rotation with and without the band, of course my rotation increased as i warmed up.

i guess if you beleive in whatever it is, it will have an affect, me I like my surfaid string as it helps others, not just me and that makes me feel good

no issue with the thread legion, I actually thought the thread was about the product and peoples feed back on the product who have actually used it. I am not even a person who participates in organized religion as such but just thought the statement that they were "sad" could probably cause offense. You have your right to your opinion mate, just as I do to tell you if it is offensive or not..

Absolute full-on hoax. I am sad that people believe the hoax and are so easily tricked. It makes me strongly question the intelligence of people that subscribe to such products and causes me to severely prejudge them. A bit like my thoughts on (most) organised religion .
