shortie today. mac was kind enough to lend me his new 'splice' the evo2 with o7 rocker.
whatever that means makes for a very nice smooth fast feeling board that on one wave I turned from the tail the whole wave without like, I was going to drop off.
you'll dig yours vanders
glad to see you boys on the goldie getting some nice ones.
i would say the month of may is a great time for surfing Qld,,, water temps still warm, light winds, clear days, crowds thinned out.
gods country
have not had a fun time. have been sick and not really enjoying it. more to being lazy and not surfing where I should have been
banks have really been messed up since the last swell. maybe this new one coming can right the wrongs
very un Chrispy like speedy recovery mate, another new board wow how many is that now, ordering a newie tomorrow also
.
as well as my captain log on Monday im getting one of these 8'7 submoon . they go off.
even vanders said get one.
price coming in on Monday. to be honest I didn't plan it but each wave I caught on it the better it got. big high performance
strong and light
I rode the 7'er which has 42 litres of volume (happens to be my shortboard volume) and was completely under-whelmed by it. The 8'7" has 67 litres and so should feel very different and have the length to get some glide which the 7'er with its high nose and tail rocker didn't have.
I'd like to try an 8'11".
Would like to hear more about it once you ride it a few times.
Yep I have got a couple of early sessions in .... I give it until the second & third crew rocks up after that it's a dog's breakfast to get a wave at all too much of a hassle
