Macaha, unfortunately I was too busy dealing with the wave and didn't get a good look at him. By the time I got washed through three other blokes were paddling out in the channel so I wasn't sure which one it was. Rest assured, one of my character defects is I am not a shrinking violet in the water and words would have been exchanged if I knew who it was.

It's been pumping down here for most of the winter so far... Today was super fun too... Sunny, crystal clear water... With global warming, it doesn't even feel that cold down here this year!

im actually on drips side here. the goldy waves are very soft compared to much of the country.....straddie being the exception, that place at three foot has hurt me in the wrong spot

when i first moved up here i was amazed at how gutless the surf was compared to what i was surfing on the south coast nsw. You people are giving the drip a hard time that he doesnt deserve imo

Thanks mate. And like I said in another thread recently, I never said there wasn't smoking fun waves there on its day, just that most don't pack much punch. And yep, Straddie smashed me a couple of times on my one trip there. Cylinders is also a wave I want to have a go at one day.

The joint I reckon is the best beachie in WA is so much fun BECAUSE it is gutless compared to most of the state. It is surfing without consequence in perfect peaks so I tend to be far more gung-ho than at other beaches that hurt. There are local beaches some people love that I don't surf because they scare me - how's that fun? Less powerful waves can be great with the right equipment and I change my boards when I travel to that beachie I mentioned above just like I do on the Goldie.

fark you are a suck hole chrispy,

when i first moved here…. surfing from where Bondi… please I'm going to be sick.

but i think I'm confusing chrispy with a guy called chrispychu

chrispychu had his arse handed to him on a gold coast beachie
chrispychu had this massive gash to his leg from a very heavy goldie wipeout if i remember right

his mate 62mac kept us all breezers in the loop.

i wish chrispychu was back in the longroom i really liked him.

As predicted it was a fair bit smaller today but still got a few with only a handful of people out and I knew most of them. Took a 20 litre drum of warm water to pour over myself after peeling off the wettie in the carpark. This works a treat.

Small pissy east swell here and by the time I checked it the wind got into it so it was off to the river for an hour of 666 paddling. It's either one or the other. Fishing for blackfish tomorrow in Sydney Harbour so I don't think I'll be missing much.
