plenty of people are interested in a snowboard company making surfboards.

http://www.libtechwaterboarding.com

whats the difference??

Never heard of them, which is surprising given they've got rippers such as Wyatt Elder and Noemar McGonagle on their team. I mean, I've heard of Libtech snowboards but had no idea they made surfboards. Never seen one in the water and never heard of anyone talking about them or interested in them. But in answer to your question, there's a big perceived difference between snowboard roots and SUP roots.

The simplest thing TAA could do it relabel his boards and remove all trace of starboard. But he'd also have to do something about the fugly shapes and the tailpads.

TAA, what's the purpose of the day? What is your stake in this?

Couldn't be that hard to organise a root on a SUP, there's certainly plenty of c8nts on them already.

Nothing in it for me
Just giving people something different to look at..or to ride..
Lots of people love to try out gear before buying.want be for everyone.
Giving something back to the sport
Been surfing and windsurfing for a long time and when I tryed these boards I loved them.
I think other people will too

TAA I hear what you're saying. It's like you found a board demo day and wanted to tell people and now you're getting smoked. If that's the case, I feel for you. But Bakesy is right, it certainly would seem you have a stake in it. Being a pretty average surfer myself, maybe one day I would accidentally post 'NSP demo day' and everyone would flame me. I would cop it on the chin and take the advice from these experienced guys and accept that NSP is not a performance board. Legion is also right, they look like absolute pigs. The last thing us surfers want is a throw down from a sport (SUP) that we have little respect of.

Putting on a try out day when you aren't trying to sell a product?? Bull**** I say....for sure you must be on the payroll. I do think some have been a bit harsh on you though mate. There's plenty of pig boards out there, and some of em are Hayden's, js and dhds! I think I posted previously that the hypto crypto was the biggest pig I have ever ridden.
Is the price actually 1800? If so I can't see anyone paying that. I know sunova have struggled with their price point and there's is a quality product.

I work in the SUP, KITE and WINDSURF industry and yep, i do promote some products for the benefit of getting people on them and then hopefully to buy them.

But i also recently bought a new big name, highly publicised surfboard , which to many is in the same boat as TAA's starboard creations. (weird and overpriced)

I make no commission from lending the board to people, have no other motives apart from getting people stoked, as much as i am.

Give the dude a break. I know you all froth on whatever manufacturer your riding.

Nahh,,, don't feel special,,
westies take the pss out of everyone including each other. Performance of the boards aside, one of the key issues seems to be promotion of a product whether yours (or maybe not) is a pretty sensitive issue.
The local shapers and industry people on this site try to be pretty careful of the 'no promotion' etiquette/rule, and get a lot of respect for it. So a few other folks will always get riled if they sniff something,,, right or wrong.
Closest you get from our locals to self promo is "try your local shaper" advice,, which makes sense,, and we have a few.
