Bugger just had my pass cancelled by a doc taking a sunspot biopsy.
Plenty of suncream lycra hats fellas, don,t ask me how I know.
Bugger it, I'm going up today too and spending the night. Get a session in this arve somewhere. Anyone for Bongaree if it come's in early enough?
I'm watching wind
edit....
Now aiming for this arvo for late sail
I'm out now, mumsy has to go to a meeting at 4 and the munchkin isn't keen on sitting at Sandstone which is fair enough. Did the road trip and got a new boom this morning though, thanks to Simon
I'm heading over at 3:30, Adam reckons he's going then too. Darren is at Bongaree with The Pope now so don't know whether he's sailing this arvo too. Don't know whether Jeff is back at work or not. It'll have to be a very quick and late session to have enough water though.
At sandstone now. Just Enough water and wind for a big rig only. No sails on water here or at bongaree. Might hang for a bit to see if anyone else shows for inspiration to rig.
Hey Johnny, I didn't get to say g'day. We jumped in at South Esplanade because Darren had been there all day and we were suss on the tide at Sandstone. I've never sailed there in a good SE before, I've been there in a SW blast and also sailed the flats on the WindSUP in a 10kn NE but have always just sailed Sandstone in good SE. I was overpowered with my 7m sail but probably wouldn't have had enough power if I'd used a 6.1. Darren had been sailing all day with his 5.8 and Adam rigged a 7m with me and was overpowered too. Had to do the walk of shame coming in, I ended up out the front of Scoopy's in the wind shadow with the tide.
I had the best time today. Managed 52k's, so fitness is starting to come back and never went into the drink once.
Sailed with John(Pope) from about 10pm I think.
Died off for little bit, then picked up again as John was leaving. Had the place to myself for a while, and the whole day it was as flat as a sh1t carters hat, right up until Paddles and Adam got there and it blew a little bit more.
Poor Jeff wore all the "Sucked in text messages" today. Sorry Jeff.
Feeling very stuffed.
Yep was great to be at work and get the - you should be here messages
hey paddles yes very familiar with the shamefull walk back from the jetty
looking good for today
Well I learned my lesson Jeff and it only happened once. Yesterday was SE wind with an incoming tide and Darren said to hit the wind line down wind on my way out, I then hung out downwind in the smoother?? water frantically letting off power with the 7m sail. I just forgot to pinch upwind to the green mark for the run back in. Adam tin-arsed it showed both Darren and myself how to do it by hitting the green on the fly and catching the gusts on the edge of the wind line right the way to the beach. He would then have time to kick back and figure out his best sledges for us when we finally slogged it back in.
It's a happy stuffed though, isn't it? It's how I feel
Yeah mate. Feeling a bit sore today too, but it's a nice kind of sore.
Jeff, are you going today?
Mate, It's just like fishing. "Shoulda been here yesterday".
What time ya going?
Paddles, ya shoulda got there early mate. Ya woulda sailed for ages with no walk.
"Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda". Jeff, Which board are you using today?
JV Johnnie, mate I've still got a long way to go. I don't know how you go that late either.
I'm too scared of becoming shark poo. What time did you sail till?
Hello! Is someone not clearing their distance from prior session?
Edit: Scratch that, I'm an idiot, (press play again).
7pm knockoff is pretty keen JV, geez you pump out the km. Hey Darren, there's not enough meat on JV to make a good meal for a bully, they'd leave him alone and go after something like me or you.
Hi,
has anyone sailed at Wellington Point? I may have to take my daughter to Ormiston on Saturday morning and thought that I could fit in a sail while I waited for her.Just looking for some "local knowledge".
Ta
6.45. Didn,t start till 4.30.Had to stop cause was no moon. Like ur theory paddles. Only works when you guys are around though. More worried about the turtle catapult . 10 to 1 it will be HEAD INJURIES in a PLACE WITHOUT A POSTCARD whilst normal BEDS are BURNING the MIDNIGHT OIL . Getting NO REACTION from anyone unless you know Peter Garret and still have Midnight oil albums stashed
away . Just bought 4 tickets for the concert at big pineapple in Oct. Have 2 spare. And 4 more for any one keen to plan a trip for their live show in the DEAD HEART. Alice Springs .
Yes cedar dell. Awesome spot wello. Any wind direction and flat on lower tide. Best west side in northerlies. Careful on the low on the eastern side as shallow spots and a few rocks below in places. Stay between the beacons..Hard to get a park sometimes.. Vicky pt. Thomsons beach is great in high tide s.e. Pt O'Halloran in northerlies.
Oh dear, JV's on the sauce again having Midnight Oil flashbacks You're right though, good for nothing speed bump turtles are a worry and there's a few about.
@CedarDell - get onto Pete, aka the Waricle. He was our Sandstone mentor and has now moved down south of the border (river). He is ALWAYS up for a sail and has now started the Viccy Point Pirates thread because he is no longer a Turner's Camp Bandit.
Obviously a child of the 60's if you can remember you weren't really there (the acid flashbacks are a bummer too)
Cedadell pm me, one cider and I'm anybody's.....
There is only one spot in our area sailable at low tides in SE and that's South Esplanade, I'd be thinking that's where everyone will be heading on Saturday.
For all those who work during the week Saturday looks good.
Where the best spot on the low in SE?
A few hour's either side of the low is awesome. My favorite spot. Pope John will most likely be there.
Sometimes Mark pop's in for a sail too. Great flat water blasting, with a play in the waves out on the bank and across the passage on the way back in. Big long run's and shallow water. Suit you to a tee Wade. Big K's.
First right after the jetty and follow it all the way to the end (small car park).
If there's a little east in it, there's a little slog out to the wind line, but clean and constant as after that.
Did the lunchtime shift at South Esplanade with John today. Stunning conditions, but slowly dropping winds. John used his SLW with 9.5 and I used an 8.5 on the Magic because I was still a bit gun shy after being flogged with a 7 there on Wednesday. I wished I'd brought my 10m sail because I was only planing here and there. The wind slowly died leading up to the low tide so we pulled the pin.
Hi Pete I'll sail at Sandstone in the morning if there's wind or South Esplanade in the afternoon depends on wind
