Yep, I hate it when people abandon their sunken boats with all the polluting crap that goes with them, the government should sting them for the recovery costs. I don't know the details about this one but there were a few abandoned boats sunken in the river here for ages and the tax payer had to fork out to get them removed in quite a big operation with barges, excavators, trucks etc. it would have cost a fortune.

That could be a sad story that one. Could have been a sea cock/valve left on accidentally, and a hose has leaked.
That was a nice boat. Still worth something, unlike the other's that have been left for dead. Wonder if it was insured.
It's been down for a few weeks Dags, i'd say the insurance company would have recovered it by now if it was insured. If it's the one we're thinking of, it was a nice big liveaboard boat.
Spoke to the "Old Man" today. He told me his mate was approached to re-float her, but too big for him.
Not insured. It had apparently been let go a bit. Nice old plank boat though. Shame.
Dear me, there was 10 or so knots of breeze for most of the day and it dropped out across the high tide. I sailed Phillip Street by myself whilst Dags, Tony and Brad were over at Bongaree making sure there was no wind over there
We had wind down at RQ
The lightweight were planing on their BIC technics and the RSX sailors were having a hoot
Me??? Got stuck in amongst a swam of youngsters in opti dingies. Felt like they were circling white pointers about to devour me. Closest I've come to having a panic attack on the water ;-)
cheers Jeff
Yep, this morning I was on the deck in trakky pants, ugg boots and two jumpers with a four espresso shot flat white in a massive mug. I went down the front on the high tide after lunch and the wind dropped down to only 5kn so I came home and sulked on the couch
How was it anyway ya jibberer?
Just wanted to point out that Tony picked up a new board yesterday. Going forward, please direct all your hatred re lack of wind toward him.
Kindest regards.
Fricken Tony
And it was a bloody "light" wind board too so that means it'll blow 5 knots less than "light" wind.
The monkey's off your back now Brad, it's all on Tony
I couldn't take it any more and pulled the mechanical windsurfer out of the shed yesterday and did a whole bunch of laps up at the MX track, Nurofen and rest are now my two new friends. I've got quads that wobble around uselessly like rubber and a butt that feels like it's been to a mardi gras after party
Welcome a new sailor to the Sandstone mob
when they are young and keen - they don't need much wind....
Max practicing for raceboard racing this weekend
That's awesome. Good on him.
Yep very impressed with Max's progress with the coaching he is getting at RQYS.
He is very keen.... hasn't mentioned Basketball or hassling me for a Giant Trance MTB for the last 2 weeks
A little vid ....
Hey Jeff. Long time no chat. Haven't been able to get on the water since xmas as my knee and shoulder are not getting any better at the moment. I may be looking at parting with a lot of my gear if you know anyone interested or if you are interested in it yourself to help out your beginners. I have a few good older sails, and my old boards, a couple of good old booms etc.
Caught up with Parso and the kiters and had a fun couple of hours on the WindSUP yesterday at Sandstone. Pretty ordinary wind conditions with it dropping out to less than 5kn by 1pm when I got out of the water, but the tide was pretty low by then anyway. Jeff eventually dragged himself out of bed to score 20mins of sailing before the wind and tide dropped to make it unsailable. I had to be home by 2:30 so couldn't do the late arvo shift at Bongaree but it sounds like Adam, John and Dags got enough wind to be up and going on short boards with big sails.
Those big sail's didn't have to be that big either.
Might have something to do with conditioning though.
Graph's said 16-18. Went to the Old Man's place to swap over connection fitting for new Wally,
Came back and it was blowing. I guess the BOM had to get it right eventually.
Tide was in and there was 5-10 knots of SE so it was down to windSUP wonderland at Phillip Street for a quick sail up to near Godwin Beach and back. Lovely conditions, but would have liked the wind to be a bit more consistent as usual.
Hey Parso, been watching your track's.
Yeah, bit ordinary compared to you blokes but put some up hoping I can start to see some improvement. Couple of hours today in good conditions for learners trying your tips over longer runs. Next opportunity I want to focus on tacking as opposed to current technique of falling in to turn around!
Work on getting yourself into using the harness a bit more too Parso, it'll more than double your sailing time before getting worn out and you'll never look back.

Great advice! No harness today & came home to fall asleep on the lounge for 2 hours!
Yo Sandstoners, Scot Farley has posted a link in another thread to a MBRC outdoor recreation survey. According to their survey, Brad and myself are the only two windsurfers in the shire so get on it today and let MBRC know that more of us exist. Survey closes today so chop chop.
Nice work Brad, you could have added some detail to the "undesireables" frequenting Turner's Camp by saying they drive white Falcon wagons and wear dodgy budgie smugglers.
