Traitors! Thought you'd support your local brew in these tough economic times. Oh that's right, it taste like sh#t. Carry on.
^^ Nice work OW !! Brisbane Bitter! I can still feel the hangover from that evil brew.
As young grommets my mates Dad would grab us a carton for $13. We reckoned it was made from dredging byproduct of Brisbane River. Got you drunk but the hangovers were total thumpers.
Is everyone cuddling their pillows ?
I got ribbed for taking one day off ,
?
One day off being a Bribie islander? Or one day of not sailing? As a retiree i think youre supposed to sail EVERY day there is wind.
Yep, kickoff should be around 1430 at 1.2m on the Brisbane bar.
Hey Olskool, you and plywoodboy should start a thread topic called "Golden Showers" for your end of the passage
I'm picking up what you're putting down olskool
Golden showers aside though, you haven't really lived till you've gone to Turner's with Jeffery and he starts parading around in his sluggos. You just get in the car and lock the doors with all the attention that gets.
Lovely autumn arvo at Sandstone today with a bunch of people (keeping their distance of course). There was regular kiters Shawn and "the unknown kiter" joined by a heap of visiting kiters and a few visiting windsurfers, plus the regulars Tony, Col and The Brad. Adam stayed home to do a jigsaw and knit a new cardigan and Jeff made a cameo appearance wearing his slippers and pyjamas before sneaking back home and not sailing. It was 6.5m wind at first that somehow dropped to 10-15 so we all went out and slogged around on 7.5+ sails as the wind slowly built. Good fun with a last light blast over to the passage and back with Col that had gusts that knocked us about a bit. Hopefully more of the same tomorrow

You guys were slogging , I wasn't
Oh listen to you ........ I saw you slogging ...... a little bit less than us That new big log of yours works very well for our weird wind days
Paddles, you can save the Golden showers for next time you visit Turners.
I do tell my kids I have been out with the old fellas at Golden Pond sometimes....
But I went to Turners on a good northerly and nobody was there, next time I went that way I headed to Sandstone and could not get a frikking car park so had to launch from Bribie. Thought I was being blocked, but will apply again for SS membership, have some new gear to get wet.
The little carpark can get quite busy on a nice day when the families are all out for a day at the beach. The busiest day was when the fishing club hit it, we all missed out on parks for a bit then.
So where was everyone today , hiding under their self knitted blankys ?
Just me and the nice nameless kiter dood .
I bet the golden shower crew came out .
A little light for the first 5 mins and then it turned on for a good hour , flat blasting goodness
Got the. FKD up to 23.5 kts with an average of 22.1
21.4 over 500 m
I like my new watch , can you tell
I know it's not that fast but did feel it In the pouring rain ,
Ive never had flat water to play in and I think I like it .
I pulled the pin on it all when it was looking like I'd get less than an hour of tide before it got dark and I rang Adam and he was having a couch moment with his doona and Netflix so you were it. "The Un-named Kiter" is another Sean so he's now Sean the Kiter II and Sean the Kiter I is the original weekday kiter.
^^^
NP Evo 8.6 and a short 28 cm Fangy fin . Should have been using a 50 cm , but it was low tide.
Im just having fun finding out how fast it can safely go ,
With a board this big it definitely feels fast .
I believe someone cracked 30 on a LT
Booties = Bad
VB = Good

Haven't met Imax yet, It's not often I meet someone that I can't share an esky with. I'd have to keep a tally.
Think I'll be at Sandstone Saturday to see if my buggered feet will stand up to it. I'm hoping for some light, constant LT weather with Cianna.
I think Pete's trying to get an LT session going.

Sat looks good for a gentle float .
Finally someone who has an "Aussie sport drink ", while sailing . Do I bring my boom cup holder ?.
I got that wrong. It's at Golden Beach.
Imax - I've got it!! I'll go "Tins", you go "Stubbies".
That way, I don't have to keep count.
^^ What! A group of Light Truckers coming to GB? So the rules are- if you sail near my boat ya gotta give ME a beer.

The highlight for me was your Ugg boots then your budgy smugglers ,If you wore both at the same time it would have been one of those truly memorable moments . I understand , its all about being comfortable in body and mind .
Sad those women and children wont sleep for a week .
It was good to meet the Golden Shower.......,i mean Beach crew. Blame Paddles for that , i cant get that out of my simple mind .
Finally had a couple windsurfing beers. I knew it wasn't impossible .
It was a fun day .
