I would rather see those responsible for cruelty to animals put down, rather than the animals themselves.
But what can you expect from a country that will ruin a young woman's life because of some cannabis?

Agreed, all you have to do is read the news, has to be at least one story per day about child abuse. Its just not good enough in my book.

Actually there is a relationship there Many studies have found that children brought up with pets and taught to respect animals are far less likely to be involved in family violence in later life

You seem to be doing enough jumping up and down for all of us.

And stuff the farmers, anybody who cares to take notice knows how animals are dealt with in muslim countries. The push to ban live exports has been around for years.

If your livelihood depends on selling animals to be tortured, then cop it sweet.

Its not like the farmers had tonnes of fruit and vegies that are now going to spoil, now the cows can just go back to the paddocks, eat some more grass, make some more baby cows (calves) till their time is ultimately up.
And possibly with the flood of meat for the Aussie market we might be able to afford to have a decent T-bone again.

Yeah, totally love the way that farmers hold their hands out for any compensation, diesel rebate, machinery write off etc etc then squeal like little pigs when things don't go their way.
"It's too wet" , "its too dry", "there's insects", "the dollars too high","the dollars too low"
.
And now it's "we didn't know about cruelty", "but if you stop live exports we'll all kill ourselves",blah, blah, blah.
And , man, the farmers federation have got a nerve. now they want the assistance of the union movement to lift the ban on live exports to Indo....... **** me , after the farmers federation raised millions of dollars to try to smash the waterside workers in the Patricks dispute!!!!!. well farmers stick it up yourselves, keep voting National, and keep getting ****ed up the ass.
Burn in hell.

poor relative, if you can watch the whole video I posted and tell me there is no difference between that and shooting a Roo between the eyes then there is something wrong!!..

I don't
I've never shot anything.

I just find we in the west who condone or turn a blind eye to our own cruelty are happy to highlight what happens elsewhere.
Battery hens is one example.

We are no different to animals really.
In fact we are no worse than Indonesia with some of our own practices

Agree. Look at the general malaise that many Australians display towards the homeless and the mentally ill. Oh, sorry, we are talking about animals.........

FFS people, 100% of the cows went to humane abattoirs. (well, humane by Islamic standards)
Then a very tiny amount were onsold to smaller ab's where they were treated badly (by anyones standards).
There is NO STORY there
The real story is our Govt's kneejerk reaction is disgraceful. All they had to do was ensure the Indo Govt
and exporters found a way to get rid of the shonky ab's or all aussie cows have to
go to reputable places and can't be onsold, they have to be slaughtered at the reputable place.

And Cassa is right - the real story is about how bad life is for many people
.... and it is more than 1%

Sidenote just out of interest: why is it always the Muslims who slaughter animals in horrid ways? Last time somebody was chasing
cattle around cutting their Achilles before slaughter it was in the middle east
somewhere, on telly about 3yrs ago.
Do we want a culture here that believes in tormenting animals and cutting their
throats whilst conscious (or for that matter, treat their women poorly also)?

Interesting that usually the same people who are all "pro-asylum seekers"
and so vocal in telling us to let them all in, are the most vocal on the animal rights
issues I find that very inconsistent - so maybe all the loony left will change
their beliefs about Muslim immigration after seeing 4 Corners?

"big trade problem" should therefore be dealt with by the trade minister...... Emerson, Yeah?. Or it's an Agriculture problem therefore it's a Joe Ludwig problem, yeah? Absolutely bugger all to do with Rudd but don't let the facts get in the way of your own politics.

Yeah but come on Dinsy, your totally biased. Your barracking for your own team in this. Your views are guided by your god. And your god is the correct god. And their god is..... well.... he's not a proper god, is he. Us = good , them = bad.

[/Thats fine to have that opinion, however are you so niaive to think that where there is smoke there is no fire. Surely out of all these reports from all over the world you would have to think there is a basis of truth. Even if a small percentage is true is that all right?. We started out talking about a small percentage of cows being mistreated and we banned the whole trade, shouldn't the same principle apply to humans?]
