bit or eighties and new. looks like it can draw some long lines. it has a wicked flier

getting in the 6 ft er for me to look at. I think its epoxy glass too .

ps always takes my 3 to 4 waves to adjust to my boards but stoked to ride everything for a 12.6 sup to log hp mid length shorties these days

Speaking of new toys...bought this lightly used Vflex Outer Islands last week.
From the moment I started paddling it I knew it was going to be good and the first waves confirmed it.
It's (at best guess) a smart board model but in big boys dimensions. 6'8" X 21&1/2 X 2&7/8".
Floats me at 88kgs to my belly button. Silky smooth as a relaxed rider.
Paddles like a dream around the line up and gets into waves smoothly with early planing ease.
Once up and riding its got excellent speed which is a product of the concave bottom. Likes a steep wall to lock into and I've already had some nice barrels in last weeks swell that it happily came out of.
Easy to do roundhouse cutbacks.
When a fat section presents itself it doesn't mind a step forward to trim across them.
Taking off on my backhand I purposely left it really late on some and with the board almost sideways on the take off the rails would still allow a controlled drop to be taken. Really forgiving just as my fave midlength the Woosley 7'6" vquad is. It's very close to feeling like a shorter version of that.
If there's any longboard crew who'd like to spice things up and ride a shorter board then they couldn't go wrong with one of these.
Here's some pics next to a Firewire 6'8" addvance. The pic angle makes the Outer islands look chunkier but its the other way around with the Firewire feeling much thicker under the arm.
Also nice that it came with the Switch blade quad fins.
Compliments my 6' Lost round nose fish perfectly.

ive been a good boy on the surfboard front. why its been at least 2 months, if not some extra days too.

honestly I sorta don't really need the 3 peat but it would be good to tidy up the consignment board.

hows that for board buying logic

Thanks for the review CF. I love my Outer Ilands board. Just wish I got to surf it more often. Saw a really nice 6'2 flex tail of his and that thing went like a rocket. Yes the bloke could surf but it's whip of the bottom was insane. His boards are insane. Those boys from Coffs certainly know how to make a board. I am sure that Argee and Mitchell have spent many a long night talking **** and refining things over the years. All of the boards that I have seen from those boys have immaculate finishes. I will get me a RG model one day soon.

Wish it was a mini mal....this thing was full blown nose rider
Surfed this break yesterday for the first time since the attack last month as many did in the last two days...sand is back
Third day back in the water there and a beach is closed.....and rightly so...animal was large!

mini mal is niiiiice

monday was pumping up here.
......tuesday was farked. Sorry we had a mum and calf swim about 30 metres from us. Completely blew me away. Was so worth not having waves
wednesday was a bit better than farked....but i went for a swim instead
today took my mini mal out in very clean but tiny semi closeout waves.....a few holiday legends spoiling things new board is showing potential
tomorrow is looking clean but will be small....well it was 6 inches about half hour ago
